Ate at Dawats recently. I had a spicy jalfrezi which was awesome. The whole meal, service and experience were first class. Thanks to Naz and the team for looking after us,

We had a company night out at Dawat, although there was a large wedding party upstairs, the service and quality of food was excellent.

Many of the party commented on the high standard of food, and stated they would return again as soon as possible.

This has got to be the best Balti house in Birmingham if not the UK I go on a regular basis even though it means travelling around 8 miles each way its more than worth it. The food is excellent as are the owner and staff who always provide a warm welcome.

Many thanks to Naz and the team at Dawats. We had a great meal, curry cooked to perfection, service first class, staff friendly. I had the dopiaza which was fantastic. I will look forward to next time, thanks Naz,

I wholly agree with the negative reviews. I ate here a few weeks ago and I was spoken to very rudely by a waiter when my girlfriend asked him about a particular dish. I had to firmly ask him to watch his manners as we were paying guests and were not going to pay £10 for a curry to be spoken to like that. From then on the service was clearly stroppy, with the food late and no care whatsoever.

Restaurants are not just about food, but service as well. The owners need to understand this. Anyway, the food was poor and 5 minutes into the main we stopped, paid, left and told the manager what we thought and headed off further down Ladypool Road.

This is by far the best Balti house in Birmingham, proof is how busy it always is.

The staff are friendly and treat customers with respect.

Try the Dansak with special rice amazing. Missing this treat will be your loss

I agree with the service being a little hit and miss. We waited ages for our bill to arrive! But the waiter we had during our meal was lovely and friendly.

The food is superb however, The best balti we have been to in a long time. The naan breads are well cooked and delicious and the balti's are gorgeous..non oily (dont you just hate it when the food is floating in grease!)and packed full of chicken (i ordered the chicken balti shashlick)

I would say they tend to be on the spicy side, which is not a problem for me, but my friend had the tikka masala and it had quite a bit of a kick too.

Being a fan of the whole poppadom onions and sauce thing at the beginning of the meal, the portions of mint sauce and onion salad is pretty poor..being a tiny little bowl between four of us. We did order more, but even then there wasnt enough to go round. A little moan really when the meal was so nice.

The decor downstairs is lovely and modern...but sit upstairs if you dare! Its got more than a hint of earlier balti restaurant examples!

All in all a delicious fairly priced balti with delicious quality food. Well recommended....our table of four gave it 34 out of 40!

Delicious authentic Indian food, brilliant presentation and relaxing surroundings.

Service was satisfactory, but with such tasty food, and in good company, this can easily be overlooked. This is an experience not to be missed!
