The Food Here Is Beautiful, its so nice, and its really addictive, i am actually addictied to it...the starters are delicious, the main course is scruptous, it is just amazing, the price is reasonable, my opinion on chinese food has changed completly after visiting this place. the food quality is excellent, as it is a blend of chinese with the traditional india taste, with the spicy flavour. i love this place and strongly recommend you pay a visit.

I've been here a few times, mainly as a fall back when we cannot agree where to go. It is one of the places you can sit down for a meal and bring your own drinks. On occasions the quality and service has been questionable. Once the Naan was like wood. Not joking, it was hard and broke like wood. I thought, now having suffered their food so many times perhaps I should this time complain. I called the waiter (main chap actually) and said 'I dont think this naan is fresh'. The chap said -and listen to this - 'you are right, we did an outside catering job the day before and a lot of naans were left over which we brought back. Unfortunately when you reheat them in the microwave they never come out right and do go wooden; sorry, but we are not making any fresh naans today as we have so many to get rid of''. Are you surprised? Well I was. I thought that in a restaurant I pay for freshly prepared food. I can assure you he wasnt joking. It was the manager I think, himself and he genuinely was expaining a problem. By the way, when I paid the bill, I noticed that he did charge for them, with a smile of course.

On another occasion, it was quite hot, one of the hottest days I am told. This was last summer. The manager had the windows open and would not put the air conditioner on as he felt it would be too expensive!

All said and done, we do end up there, mainly because we have not gone to the trouble of finding somehere else.

to be honest this is the worst place i have frequented. The rice was not cooked properly. They cannot limit the amount of spices in their dishes. I am surprised it is always busy!!! the service was ok. The prices too high for the quality and trhe food was not 'fresh'. I shall not recommend this to any of my friends as it was a total waste of money. The nan bread was hard. Unfortunately we had to leave the food and go to another restaurant.

My husband got a take away from there on Thursday and to be completely honest it was the worst take away we have ever had.

The spring rolls were empty....so we paid £4.50 for 3 rolled up bits of filo pastry.

We then had Szechuan lamb which i swear was like eating old bits of leather. It was so dry and had very little taste, other than the sauce it was smothered in.

We also had chow mein noodles, which were greasy and pretty bland but i guess bordering on ok compared to the other dishes!

The 3 dishes cost around £25, a total rip off and hugely dissapointing!

Considering two chefs have been recruited from the five star Marriott Hotel in Karachi, Pakistan, with over 15 years of experience in Chinese cuisine fused with Pakistani dishes it was really, REALLY bad!

I am happy to pay £25 or more for a meal that you can actually eat and enjoy, but we had to throw most of it away as it was pretty disgusting.

My advice is stay away, unless you enjoy paying for food that is substandard. I would never go back there, even if the food was free or you paid me!!! Sorry!

well,iv heard enough!!!

i used to manage the lahore karahi halal restaurant in highgate rd,brum upto last year, and now im running the international side of it...the food is unique and fabulous...as for some of the negative comments below....i can answer them truthfully....

firstly, the service is good, not excellent, but very good considering how busy the restaurant is....

secondly,if you book a table, let them know when you get there....but like most people, just because there are less people than originally booked or they turn up very late, they dont bother telling us!!

thridly, the prices have been held for the past 7 years...what else do you want!!!

...and if you have an y other doubt before visiting the restaurant, take a look at the awards they have recieved over the past couple of years!!!

...and one vital thing i should mentionj....the dished are per person servings..not per table servings!!!so,if your thinking of ordering 2 dishes for 5 people...your better of with the takewaway service the restaurant offers or the cheaper alternatives across the road!!!

many regards

gordon
