Can anyone tell me if this resturant is closed for a refurbishment of closed and gone out of business? Been going there for years and was disappointed that it was closed.

Just come back from a party at the Punjab and we left very disappointed. The food can only be described as stew with a hint of curry. The service was not the best, arrived at the restaurant at seven thirty and the main meal was not served until at least 10pm.
Paradise does not spring to mind when you are eating from plastic plates. One of the ladies toilets was celotaped down and the mens completely out of order.
We paid for a five course meal, can only recall having four. We did not know that Cornish ice cream was also a delicacy of the eaterie.
We were kindly advised that we could smoke on the balcony. This was more terrifying than hurricane Katrina. Having to climb out of a window was quite scary.
Then to top it all we were all asked to pay for some of our missing guests. Not good service. No consideration for indivduals with food allergies and there was a lack of choice.

Went to punjab with my wife after reading the reviews and have to say it was nothing more than average. A bit over priced compared to most of the restaurants in the area. The food was average, quite bland, Considering I'm Asian and I asked for it to be hot all they did was stick loads of chillie powder in it.
Will be trying a few others on ladypool rd to see if they are any better.

What's happened to tan? Yet another management change what is going on. Food is ok but service was real bad just Ali doing everything. Not sure if I'll be going back anytime soon.

Been using the Punjab for years and in all the years iv been i have only ever had I bad experience. The curry is always fab and i always clean my bowl. Dont listern to bad reviews go and see for yourself and Im sure you wont be disappointed.
Staff are always helpful and friendly and I for one love the place.

Went in to Punjab on Sat with a party. We were seated upstairs there was about twenty of us.. the starters took ages to come and then the main course took even longer.
The food was not up to its usual standard neither was the service, actually i was very disappointed in the service hardly anyone came to see how we were and no one told how long the food was going to be, we had to keep going downstairs to find out.
the staff started arguing with the guy who organised the event. will never go back.

Been using the Punjab for about 15 years it has to be said that the food is still the best anywhere. Ali is pure class and Tan is brilliant. Looking forward to another 15 years of pure Balti Heaven....
