We have been coming to the Hawali since it first opened and it just gets better and better. Particularly since the fire when it had a complete refurbishment.
The food is delicious and the staff friendly and attentive. The owner is delightful and the decor very tasteful. The menu is very extensive and the wine list comprehensive without being overly expensive.. Even when it is exceptionally busy we are never rushed.
It is my son's favourite restaurant in the whole world. (he would go evry day if he could!) As a family we used to go virtually every week but nowadays circumstances mean that we cannot eat out quite so often. But, when we do, it is the only place we go! Definitely value for money and very child friendly. Booking is essential.

My wife and I have been loyal customers of this wonderfull restaurant since it
first opened in the mid 1990's.Our first nightout together was a sucess largely
due,I believe, to the fabulous tandoori wings,we were married soon after.
Now after over a decade and two children later we still make the pilgrimage
to Hagley Road Birmingham to enjoy the superb cuisine and cosmopolitan atmosphere. Mohammed the owner and his staff made the journey from
Portsmouth and now Leeds allways worthwhile .In conclusion I really cannot praise this jewell of a restaurant too much and my family and I thoroughly reccomend it to anyone who appreciates good food and nice people.

I love this place!
For me and my family this place has been the best all-round Indian restaurant in Birmingham.
I have been fortunate to visit around 90% of the reatuarants in Birmingham, but when i want to have the piece of mind that i will get exellent service and great food, i only can think of 1 choice; Haweli!!
Go! You will not be disappointed.

This is one of the best Indian restaurants in Birmingham the food is superb. I have been a loyal customer since 1999.
The prawn on puri is to die for and the chicken kebabs are so tasty.
I have probably tried most of the main courses my favourite being methi gosht and king prawn saag.
We have introduced family and friends to this fine cuisine. Living within a 2 mile radius we have a takeaway every week. (naughty but nice)
The staff are really friendly and have been there for years, Amrik is always helpful. The owner Mohammed always offers us a drink on the house (now you dont get service like that anymore)
All in all you must try this place you need to book because they are always packed turning tables round. Very good value for money the only thing I can complain about is that there is only one toilet.

The best way to describe the food at this restaurant is that it is second to home cooking. The service is excellent and the staff are very welcoming. It is definitely value for money, including the drinks. A good range of dishes are available and they are of good portions too. The only downside is the lack of parking as it is located on the main road.
However I recommend this restaurant to everyone.
