I have been here many imes. Whilst the food is great, the gents toilets are absolutely rubbish!!

There is no lock so anyone can enter, and there's no toilet roll (!). This is very, very amateurish. Obviously the owners do not care about style and elegance in a place.

We went to this restaurant for our anniversary and the food was absolutely delicious. This was the second time we went and the food was better than the first time. Restaurant small but food fab!

After many good recommendations from people who purchased food from this resturant, I was shocked to find the food so appulling. I brought chicken Tikka as a take away; returning home i found that there was no salad having to make another journey to collect. If this wasn't the worst problem, after tasting the chicken it was found to be EXTREMELY hot, looking at it further i came to the conclusion that it had been covered in chilli powder ?? Then the meal became extremely obvious, it was not cooked fresh, but tasted like one of those ready meals. This was the same with the nan bread and the popodom aswell. I REALLY WOULDN'T BOTHER WITH THIS PLACE !!

I love this place. No flash decor, uniforms or garnish as so many other (new)Birmingham restaurants which are style ovr substance! Just big portions, plenty of flavour and a price that means you can take the whole family to eat. I would recommend the prawn on puri starter, and the best main is the butter chicken dry fry. Big plates of salad with the courses are always welcome.

Best food around and a great atmosphere. On another site I read a negative and long review from "chris". Sadly this is also my name. But I wish to make it known that whoever he is he has no tste or no tastebuds.

The only problem with the Haweli is that it is too good and getting a seat is increasingly a problem.

We have been coming to the Hawali since it first opened and it just gets better and better. Particularly since the fire when it had a complete refurbishment.

The food is delicious and the staff friendly and attentive. The owner is delightful and the decor very tasteful. The menu is very extensive and the wine list comprehensive without being overly expensive.. Even when it is exceptionally busy we are never rushed.

It is my son's favourite restaurant in the whole world. (he would go evry day if he could!) As a family we used to go virtually every week but nowadays circumstances mean that we cannot eat out quite so often. But, when we do, it is the only place we go! Definitely value for money and very child friendly. Booking is essential.

My wife and I have been loyal customers of this wonderfull restaurant since it

first opened in the mid 1990's.Our first nightout together was a sucess largely

due,I believe, to the fabulous tandoori wings,we were married soon after.

Now after over a decade and two children later we still make the pilgrimage

to Hagley Road Birmingham to enjoy the superb cuisine and cosmopolitan atmosphere. Mohammed the owner and his staff made the journey from

Portsmouth and now Leeds allways worthwhile .In conclusion I really cannot praise this jewell of a restaurant too much and my family and I thoroughly reccomend it to anyone who appreciates good food and nice people.

I love this place!

For me and my family this place has been the best all-round Indian restaurant in Birmingham.

I have been fortunate to visit around 90% of the reatuarants in Birmingham, but when i want to have the piece of mind that i will get exellent service and great food, i only can think of 1 choice; Haweli!!

Go! You will not be disappointed.
