Blue Mango

First time at Blue Mango. We found the decor and welcome very pleasant. Being a Saturday evening we reserved a table and this it probably best as it filled up fairly quickly... The menu was great, lots of different items that you don't normally see at other Indians. There was a wide variety of north and south indian dishes.
We had a booth by the window which overlooked a rubbish filled part of the canal...not exactly what you want to look at when you are eating. The wait between courses was slightly on the long side, but having said this the wait was worth it. The food was very well presented and tasted great. Cost was around £30 per head. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an delicous Indian with a difference. Try the south indian Appam and lamp chops, they were excellent.

The food was very nice, and all seemed fresh. It was refreshing to find dishes on the menu that varied from normal indian/balti menu's. The staff are very clean, polite and helpful

we had a buffet and there was not anything that i could recommend. paid 16 pounds and ended up not eating much. the service was quite bad. no one made us feel welcome and they kept trying to hurry us. we asked to get 2 tables put together and the refused. thisd was fair enough until they agreed to do so for another group.

Since coming back from India earlier in the year I have been searching for real Indian food in London, Liverpool and Manchester with no luck at all.
A colleague in work recommended Blue Mango in B'ham and it was brilliant.
Real Indian food cooked to a very high standard and served by very friendly staff.
I didn't fancy anything off the Christmas menu so the manager just asked me what I fancied and he went and had it cooked.
The Dosa's are just like the one's I've had in India. A great choice for starter. Main course was a really good Chicken Dopiaza with Tandoori Roti. The Mango Lassey and Sweet Lime Soda are a taste of Mumbai.
Its a little bit more expensive than your average curry house but this is reflected in everything that they do. Still good value for money. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Went back again to have my favourite executive mix starter. This time the main course was to die for...Fresh divine Lobster, perfectly cooked and dressed. Love the fresh strawberry fruit punch. Service was ace, even let us take out what we could not finish!!

Fantastic Indian Restaurant, beats many I have tried in Leicester / Bham. Definitly recommend the executive mix starter although the grill king prawns have some what decreased in size throughout the year. It fill you up like a main course!! The fruit punch cocktail is fab... definately going back again. Good offer with gourmet society too.

I have the misfortune of wondering into blue mango with my fiance last weekend. At first glance i would agree with the other reviewers. However after the waiter tried for the third time to bring our main course while only half way through our starter it went down hill. This apart the food was poor and the price steep so i wont be frequenting again.

We have been to this restaurant twice now and without reservation. The staff are lovely and the decor is simple and elegant. The food portions are good and the food is 'okay', there are better indian restaurants out there. For an unplanned evening meal it is ideal as it is close to the city centre, but do expect slightly highly priced dishes.

As an Indian I loved the comtempary ambience that Blue mango offered - the service was also second to none - however the food was a disappointment - pretty average - you might as well visit a Balti House down the Stratford Road - especially considering the prices they charged - the only thing I miss about Blue Mango is the lunch time buffet at £6 per head which was a bargain and not bad for the price!!!

On a visit to Birmingham on business and not knowing where to eat, we found the Blue Mango by accident, from the amazing aroma drifting into Broad Street. It it close to the centre of the night life in Birmingham, ideally situated for an evening out.
The decor is stylish, contempary and spacious. The restaurant is cleverly appointed, they have not sacrificed space at the expense of the ambience.
The menu choice is extensive, every palette catered for and the staff happy and willing to help with selection if required.
The food is amazing! We thoroughly enjoyed our first time and have been back regulary -introducing friends and family - they even helped us celebrate our daughters 21st.
I guess we like it!
