Just dropped by for a coffee and some ice-cream today at 11.30. They got my ice-cream order wrong. I asked for peach and they came back with strawberry. It was the manageress / supervisor who took my order. Not a great sign. But it was nice and the coffee was great. Floor could have done with a clean and there are missing tiles and skirting that has come away from the wall and electrical wires dangling free from some sort of point on the wall - too high to reach. It could do with a bit of TLC.

I’ve been there so many times and enjoyed their nice pastas, beef fillets, pizzas and desserts. They have very good chefs and a respectable staff team from every where you can imagine! Italy, Iran,India, Spain, Poland & etc. That has given the best environment you can find.

Oh dear. Went here with 8 friends for a pre-show meal for my Birthday.

Despite the Manager being exceptionally polite we had a more than disappointing experience. We were the first of about 20 covers at the time yet we were served last. Starters didn't arrive together so some guests had completed course before others served. A side order of bread for a prawn cocktail arrived after the table was cleared for the main (though I was told the prawns were fab and my garlic mushrooms were divine).

Most ordered pizza after the waiter tempted us with parma ham and egg..... said pizzas arrived with rather puzzling additions in the form mushrooms, artichoke and black olives for good measure and the dough and sauce were the sloppiest I've ever had the displeasure to taste. The staff were sooooo slow and yet they had the cheek to add £16 service charge which needless to say, we didn't pay.

Love this place, always come away happy. Last time i orderered the pasta, clams and chilie dish. Wash very impressed. The different flavours complimented each over, felt like my mouth was alive with taste.

I have never been brave enough to try the desserts however they look amazing

I would get there early so when you leave you dont have to put up with the drunks on broad street as this is the main ebtertaiment area in Birmingham

Del Villaggio certainly made an impression on me and my friends - as being one of the worst 'restaurants' we've ever been to. The staff were rude, slow and didn't appear to know how to operate the till. We seemed to be an inconvenience to them. The food was average, cold, one pizza was burnt and the salad was limp and pathetic. Maybe we caught them on a bad night, but there are too many other great restaurants in Birmingham to bother with this one again.

phoned up to book a table to have the waiter put the phone down, when i rang back to ask whether they normally put the phone down on people when they are trying to book he said look we are very busy do u want a table or not- very rude left me quite stunned a shame because i wanted to book a table for 25 adults.

after going christmas shopping in birmingham it was a real treat to walk into this restaurant, the service was excellent, the food very good and the wine a good price but the best thing of all for me as i am on a gluten free diet the menue is normally very limited however they do pasta dishes with gluten free pasta which is excellent

The food and wine are average and expensive, they didn't have most of the desserts on the menu, and the service was appalling - very slow and the waiter was completely oblivious to our presence even when we were trying to get his attention and they weren't particularly busy. This was my first and last time at Del Villaggio and I was very disappointed. I won't be back.

I love this restaurant. The atmosphere is exception, the food a taste explosion, the wine was scrumptous and the service is perfect.

The price however, does mean it is only a place for a special treat.

Bravo Del Villaggio.

A fairy grotto of twinkling glass and pretty fairy lights, Del Villagio is also a great place to find elegant wines and wonderful food. The waiters are friendly and professional. The menu is fairly straightforward, but eveything on it is cooked and presented to perfection. (And by the way, they have great big wine glasses to fit half a bottle in, so take a big bag and you might be able to nick a few.)
