Have you people visited a completely different restaurant?, I've been here twice and although I've had the same meal the quality has been absolutely fantastic and as I live in the North West I'm gutted I can't get back up here very often.

I've visited both times around 5pm and had a Garlic Bread with cheese which was divine and Penne Arribiata which was steaming hot, a loaded bowl full, so well presented I've got photo's on my phone and was done properly without the Salami.

I've lived in Southern Italy and I worked at Pizza Express (which is also lovely) and I have to say that for quality, prices and service Del Villagio was totally on a par with both of these! I can't wait to go back and hope that my meal is still on the menu!

What a rip off. I never write reviews but feel it is my duty after this experience. My wife and I were looking for somewhere nice to eat pizza and pasta prior to a concert but Pizza Express was too busy so we dived into this place. It looked pleasant enough as we rushed in but once seated we realised that the restaurant section was just an add on to the downstairs cafe. The surroundings therefore were similar to a truck stop.

Service was swift and polite but this is really all it had going for it. We quickly chose a pasta meal for my wife and a chicken, mushroom and onion pizza for myself which arrived promptly. This is when things turned sour. There was a beggar asking for money at each table and as he was being pushed out he came to us to ask for spare change. He was removed quickly enough and I felt for the owners but nobody thought to offer an apology. I then noticed my pizza which was the worst looking pizza I had ever seen. Not a sign of any herbs, dressed with 1 tiny slither of onion and completely bland to the taste. I was shocked especially when the cost of this was £9.50. My wife's pasta appeared reasonable and was a sizeable portion for £7.50 but she said that an earlier pasta meal from Frankie & Benny's was much better. I will never go here again. I would go back to Pizza Express and as for the 10% service charge, I wish I'd given that to the beggar in protest at the "a-la-crud" food.

Went in today for lunch. The lasagne was cold and was put in a dish to be microwaved the chips were placed in a plactic tray and one of our portions was only half a portion. We left before it was served to us.Very poor will not try again.

This restuarant has two levels. The cheap and cheerful ground floor with fabulous pizzas, salads and pasta. Then there is the mezzaneen level with an A La Carte menu.

Both serve fabulous food but at very different prices, for different types of lunches.

Exceptionally cheap, filling food. The lasagne was lovely, both meat and veggie versions. Quite busy and slightly cramped, but very good staff.
