Festival Balti

The food is quite good, a little too oily if anything. Nice fresh breads. Service is strange to say the least, the staff make you feel like you are interrupting their personal time. My girlfriend and I were half thinking we were on a candid-camera type show, that's how appalling their customer skills are. One of our glasses had a small smudge of lipstick on it when we arrived, and the waiter seemed angry at having to get a clean one!

Three of us went this evening-06.10.07.we had our drinks and then a 20 min wait for popadoms and then our starter came at the same time so there were plates every where.We then waited an hour for our main course that was luke warm.We were offered free drinks but we just paid and left

Typical girls night out, went to a club, had a few drinks, fancied a curry before going home, so we decided to try FB.

The meal we chose was a 3course set menu for £10.00 each - bargain we thought. The starter arrived, tasted okay but nothing to write home about as they say! The main meal arrived, okay but once again nothing special - up until now the service was of standard, waiters seemed friendly enough. At this stage we were waiting for the final part to the meal, the dessert. Whilst waiting for the dessert, a waiter came over to hand us a basket of the little hand towels which I thought was strange as normally those things are handed out at the end of a meal - when he came over one of my friends asked if we could possibly have an alternative desert as there was only indian ice cream on offer - well where do I start, anyone would think she asked him for a million pounds the way he carried on, he sunddenly became very abrupt and basically told us that if we were not happy with the set desert we should just leave - charming hey!! We were spoken to with such disgust and attitude so we demanded to speak to the Manager who behaved the same as his employee. My friends and I decided to leave obviously without paying due to the way in which we were spoken to. At this stage the restaurant was very busy, whilst trying to leave the Manager blocked the Exit and told us we could not leave until we had paid, bearing in mind we had not received the final part of our set meal. In no way did the Manager of the restaurant try to reconcile the situation, his attitude was disgusting - I mean what a way to treat 4 young ladies! What must other customers have thought?! It got to the stage where security was called as we were adamant that we not paying the bill, at this stage obviously we had to pay the bill as otherwise we would have spent the night in a jail. All this heartache just for a curry!! I would strongly urge people to think twice before visiting this restaurant, the food is very basic & hasn't really got no flavour and where do I start with commenting on the staff and management - I let you all come to your own conclusions on that one from what I have written above. This restaurant is obviously run by a bunch of amateurs!!!

A small group of us went out to festival Balti. We had ordered a three course meal and it was all rushed out and not cooked and presented well. Very disappointed by the food as it wasn't to the level of standard that we were expecting in relation to the price. In the end we left without having our dessert due to the way that were spoken to by the waiter's. The service was appalling and it is run by poor and inefficient management. I would never recommend anyone to go there.

Following limited reviews, a group of us went to Festival Balti recently. It took 30 minutes just to place drinks orders, and when ordering our food, several members of the group were missed and had to call the staff back to give their choices. Starters took around 40 minutes but for the most part were of a high standard when they did arrive. However, some members of the party were then told their main course choices were not available! This would have been useful when we originally gave the order. Again some of the main courses were good quality but some were flavourless, undercooked or badly presented & all came out at different times so some were left waiting. It was often difficult to find a waiter for assistance & the service was unprofessional at best, which is unfortunate for such a well presented restaurant. I would not recommend this to anyone else unless something is done about the poor service.
