Le Petit Blanc - Birmingham

Awful, avoid at all costs. I regret eating here. At a table of 4, we had to return 3 dishes. Service was vile too, a waitress laughed when my partner tasted her dish and spat it out in revulsion. I can't believe we paid, we should have just walked out - it was that bad.

Le Petit Blanc has sleek, urbane decor and atmosphere, with lots of glass and twinkling fairy lights glinting off each other. It's a pretty place to dine but the table layout makes it not the most intimate. And after first impressions, the restaurant begins to seriously let itself down. The food is fine - but nothing special, and the waiting staff are somewhat distant and disinterested. It doesn't warrant the hefty price tag stated on the menu, let alone the total cost when a hidden VAT charge is slapped on at the end. Vastly over-rated and not at all recommended.

We arranged a family get together to celebrate my Mum's 60th birthday - there were 13 of us for Sunday lunch. We found the food to be excellent, the staff friendly, attentive and understanding when we got a little loud! We were allowed plently of time between courses and given time to catch up. The food was well presented and all in all we had a lovely afternoon.

Went here Christmas 2005 and had the Christmas menu.
Very disappointing. Just meat and 'jus'and cubes of pumpkin on a plate.
We were still hungry afterwards and all had a kebab on Broad Street afterwards.

I went here for Monday evening meal. The food was excellent, especially the fish. The waiters were very friendly, creating a very warm and homely atmosphere.
