Been going to this restaurant for years, they even know my order when I enter the building I am greeted with respect and they usually have my order almost written down unless I decide otherwise.

I eat in and take out, Eating in is a pleasant experience with kind and care at work.

I admit they messed up once giving me the wrong order on a tightly written menu and it happens , but that was due to the communication error, and were prepared to rectify the issue after a little talk to another staff member, and they even had common sense to sell it to another customer right behind me who was waiting and in a hurry... Good work guys.

Taking out is a greater experience, you get more meat, more curry, more rice... you really do benefit taking out and can you blame them, if eating in becomes too crowded there is only takeaways as an option , so that explains the quantity over that of convenience, i just live around the corner so it's no big deal for me.

Plus factors:

- They give you free prawn crackers if the waiting time is poor (only happened once, and every other time has been within reasonable time!)

- They respect and try to remember you and your last orders.

- They give you an option of drinking from a can, bottle, a straw in both, or simply in a glass, they don't force you to drink from glasses (which are often not the best in restaurants)

- I send my girlfriend out to get my takeaways and she doesn't take any time, one minute I'm writing an e-mail the next the food is on my desk and I'm eating like a King!.

- The food is consistent and awesome quality, 9/10

- Bang for buck ! is right up there, cheap food + good quality, you wont find it anywhere else.

Overall I give them 9/10, the only way they could improve is if they bought ANOTHER extension and decorated the place, and washed the windows more.. they're filthy, but you can sit away from them at non busy hours.

Tip to the owners: wash your windows!

I regularly go to this restaurant and I'm yet to have a bad meal.

The interior is sparse but the food is authentic, flavoursome and always fresh, helped no doubt by the fact that it is usually so busy. (also there's an open kitchen so you can watch your food being cooked if you're waiting for a takeaway.)

Very well priced compared to other restaurants in China Town. The staff speak very little English but are always friendly.

We have been going to this restaurant often since we moved to Birmingham in 2005, and it probably serves the best Malaysian food we've had outside of Malaysia. The menu is quite heavilly Chinese-influenced, but there are a few classic Malay dishes (e.g Nasi Lemak). A few indian dishes such as roti canai would be nice.

The service is good and usually quite quick. Understandably it takes a bit longer when it is packed (as it often is) at peak times. However you don't usually have to wait too long for a table, especially since they doubled the size of the place a couple of years ago.

The decor and atmosphere is basic - but that is part of the charm. Ignore the negative review about moving tables. Two of us have sat at a large table suitable for 8 in the past when it was the only one free. We were quite happy to move to a smaller one when it became available and a larger group came in. The staff move your food for you quickly so as not to disturb you too much.

If, like that reviewer, you find it `rude' to be asked to move in order to accomodate other guests, or are looking for a fine dining, silver service restaurant this is not the place for you.

But if you want great tasting, authentic, reasonably priced food served by friendly staff in an atmosphere where you can sit back casually and chat with friends while you eat then I would highly recommend Malaysian Delight.
