Shogun Teppanyaki

Upon climbing the stairs we entered into a gloomy looking restaurant that was a bit too quiet for a friday night and the waiting staff looked bored and uninterested.
After ordering we were moved to a seat around one of the hot plates. The plate itself was filthy with old grease marks all over it and bits of food stuck to it that had obviously been there quite some time. The sauces were already arranged at each seat (including the empty ones) and there was no way of knowing how long they have been left out.
There were some people at a table next to us and one of the chefs came out with the food to cook for them and proceeded to pick up a knife from a trolley near our table which was dirty with food stuck to it and proceeded to start cooking at the other table with it.
Then one of the waiting staff leaned over and half stuffed a used tissue down the waste hole of the hot plate.
This was the final straw, we made excuses and legged it.
I suppose in fairness I cant really say whether the food was good or not but the complete lack of hygiene was disgusting and the risk of food poisoning (especially with the raw fish) was enough to put us off. I would avoid this place like the plague.

I was a fairly regular customer of Shogun mainly for their bargain buffet sushi bar. However after the last seating on a Sunday evening from 8pm I will never return. The service was terrible, we were told that they are closing at 9:30 so will not serve any more "fresh" sushi. All that was left revolving were raw salmon and tuna which I can't eat. Asking them to make some more non-raw sushi was like drawing blood from stone. I had to repeatedly ask them 5 times before they would.
