The Forest

There is simply one word to sum up my experience of eating at the Forest; WOW! Firstly, the service is exceptional. Its friendly and helpful without coming across as false and over the top. The atmosphere and geneal decor is classy and comfortable. I found it very relaxing and elegant. Let me move on to the food now because, quite frankly, I can not wait to talk about it! It was quite simply the best meal I have ever eaten in any restaurant, and my partner and I do eat out a lot. It was a special Valentines menu but offered a wondeful choice and it was hard to pick. I had Tortellini of langoustine with watercress and pernod for my starter which was beautifully presented and the perfect size for a starter. It tasted amazing and left me excited for the next course! For my main I had Chateaubriand of beef with shallot jus and dauphinoise potato. Oh My Goodness! I am usually not a big meat fan, however, I can honestly say I have become one over night after sampling the Forest's beef. I had it cooked medium. It was the best cut of the cow and melted in the mouth. The flavours were incredible and my mouth is watering even thinking about it. And as for the potato....I quite simply couldnt get enough of them! And finally, for my final course, I chose the Mango and lime leaf cream brûlee with caramelised puff pastry and mulled wine syrup and what a finale it was. Creamy, full of flavours and the puff pastry was perfectly buttery and delicious. With our coffees, we were served delightful little chocolates. Even the little details such as these and the bread basket were just so perfectly presented and tasted out of this world. This in my opinion is a winning restaurant and like no other I have ever eaten at. Its 10 out of 10 in every department! Gordon Ramsey would be jelous!!!!
