My friends and I visited Old Orleans on the 29th May 2008 it was totally totally rediculouse we arrived at around 5.15 pm an still at 6.45 we hadnt got any main course , we had 1 starterr bwetween 3 people and 1 pitcher whicb i tought they went to the bahamas to go and make the rum for the drink cos it was taking so long .We asked numorous times why we were kept waiting an the staff would walk off and not return to tell use why there was a delay .After waiting for so long and being very hungry and fed up we called the manager who was so very very rude i told her to go get the bill which i assumed would only be for the things we consumed the bill was £50 we didnt even get anything to eat so you can imagin how mad we got and she threatened to call security so we told her to do so , but we would not pay £50 for 1 pitcher and 1 starter she asked had we not eaten , we asked had she not listened to what we had been complianing about we hadnt had any food she just said have the drinks on us and walked off no apology .

What a pleasure it was to take the family here on the 22nd of December.
Drinks took at least 15 minutes to arrive.
Food took 50 minutes
They advertise jambalaya as an authentic Cajun dish which is hilarious when you consider the word Cajun is country cooking and this dish pings out of the microwave with less taste than a cotton wool bud.
The dish was very poorly presented and cold, the waitress took it away without asking any questions, which obviously meant they have a lot of complaints regarding this appalling dish.
We waited about 35 minutes for a replacement, by then the rest of my family had finished what you can only say was a very ordinary poorly presented meal.
Ice cream for the kids never arrived.
The manager knocked off 10 percent without being asked, which I find insulting and certainly an admission of guilt for the pathetic food and service.
Regent Inns have always struck me as a company that builds on reputation and service, I wonder what their reaction would be if their suppliers offered a similar low standard of quality and service to them...

Don,t bother. We went to Old Orlands on Sunday 30th September 2007, where we had to wait 40min to order our drinks and main course, we then had to wait 20min for our drinks ( 2 off which were tipped over 2 of our party), 30 min later our main course was delivered to us (we then had to send 3 meals back because they were cold). we then ordered our sweets and had to wait a further 25 for them to be served,
If you want to wast 2.5Hrs at a 2nd rate restaurant, Old Orleans is the place for you. Me?? I won't be going there again

We have had several meals at Old Orleans and every time the food has been of a high standard and served by friendly staff. I would certainly recommend this restaurant if you want a good atmosphere and good food.

Went to this restaurant tonight Friday 25th May 2007. Shown to a private table, food ordered came promptly, was exactly what we ordered and tasted delicious. Waitress was friendly and very helpful. Have been to this restaurant several times and never had any problems. Will definitely go back.

Surprised at that review! I've been to Old Orleans at Star City dozens of times & I have only ever had a problem once which the waitress corrected in about 1 minute (I asked for no guacamole on my fajita). If you go to a restaurant you expect to be sat next to others! I'm sure you would have got a quiet corner had you asked for it! Love the food & cocktails @ Old Orleans and the staff are great...fantastic atmosphere, especially when its busy in the evenings...highly recommend it!

My boyfriend and I went to this restaurant on Sunday 16th April and we would not go back! Even though the restaurant was empty, we were seated right next to two other couples, when we were hoping for a bit of privacy. As soon as our starters were taken away our mains arrived within seconds. My chicken burger was meant to be chargrilled but was burnt and even though I only asked for just no mayonnaise, I had no salad at all on my burger so it was very dry. The chips on both of our meals were cold. We would have complained on the day, but we had tickets booked for the cinema so we could not hang around and we could not leave the food as my boyfriend is diabetic and needed to eat ASAP. We were really disappointed with this restaurant as we have heard good things from other people, but we would definitely not be going back.
