The Village Pub

the food here is good, though expensive, but the serivce is the worst i have encountered anywhere. we went on saturday night, and the management had greedily crammed in as many tables as they could taking bookings that they must have known their staff could not cope with. Our table was both wobbly and dirty (my huisband was given a cloth to wipe it with ...) and we waited 2 hours from arrival to main course. the 2 other couple sitting next to us were also loudly complaining about the atrocious service and one couple who had arrived some time before us, but had still not been served when we finally got our main course, walked out in disgust. the management were completely unapologetic when my husband went to pay.
