we went to the fleur de lys after seeing a good review in the stratford herald, and would have to say that it more than lived up to our expectations. we walked in to find a wealth of exposed beams, 3 roaring open fires, a good selection of beers and wies, and a top quality pub menu.

we waited about 25 mins for our main courses, which i didn't think was too bad as it gave us a chance to have a couple of drinks, and enjoy the ambience of the place, and when the food came, it was most definitely worth the wait.

all 5 of us had different pies, so we could try a bit of each others to see what they were like, and i have to say, all of them were gorgeous.

would most definitely recommend this pub to friends, and will definitely be going again myself at some point soon.

Absolutely love this pub. Great quality pub grub, big portions, reasonable prices. Probably the best beer in the area, and a beautiful setting. Good Job Guys.

i cant disagree more with the previous review, since this place has gone to family ownership rather than being part of a chain it has gone from strength to strength. i was here for bonfire night, which was probably the best pub fireworks do i have ever been to. our christmas day lunch was absolutely superb, and on new years dy when we went, the place was absolutely rammed, and the food and service was still sublime.

absolutely love this pub, and always make sure i tell all my friends about it, and i thik that the secret is finally getting out, because every time i go the place is always lively ad busy.

my hat is off to the current owners and their good work,

keep it up.

We used to love eating in this pub before it was taken over, the menu was extensive, the service friendly and prompt. We've given it the benefit of the doubt a few times since but certainly would not eat there again. We initially didn't realise it had been taken over and simply thought the menu had been changed, but after waiting over an hour for food, and witnessing most of the other people waiting also complaining about the service, we realised something was indeed wrong. When our food finally arrived it was overcooked and the service left a lot to be desired. Our meal came without gravy and after requesting this we waited..... and waited..... and you guessed it we ate the food for fear of it going cold before the gravy even made an appearance! The vegetarian selection is very poor and i struggled for anything other than a pie, this is compared to a much more extensive veggie selection from the previous owners. The only thing going for this pub is the ambiance and quaint surroundings, oh and of course the beer..... most certainly not the food!

Had a thoroughly enjoyable time at the fleur de lys last sunday. A nice drive out into the country brings you to this lovely rural setting, and amazing country pub with a beautiful garden. When inside, wasn't disappointed either. The food and drinks matched the standard of any of the other pubs I have visited in the area, and they weren't overpriced like some of the places in the vicinity. Great pub with lots of character.

i am a great fan of this pub, and think the pies they sell nowadays match up to anything that i had here in the 50s. beautiful pub with a nice relaxed atmosphere. would recommend it to anyone.

STOPPED OFF AT THE FLEUR DE LYS WHILST ON A BOATING HOLIDAY EARLIER IN THE SUMMER.

I DON'T THINK I HAVE EVER BEEN TO A FINER EXAMPLE OF A TRADITIONAL ENGLISH PUB. LARGE GARDENS, CANAL ALONGSIDE, BEATIFUL OPEN FIRED INTERIOR. TRULY MARVELLOUS, AND THE BEER WAS STUNNING AS WELL.

LOOK FORWARD TO PASSING AGAIN NEXT YEAR.

I go to the fleur de lys on quite a regular basis, and have never had any of the problems described in some of the reviews here.

i have always found the food to be top quality and the service to match.
