Fleur De Lys

I go to the fleur de lys on quite a regular basis, and have never had any of the problems described in some of the reviews here.

i have always found the food to be top quality and the service to match.

i have had many enjoyable evenings in the fleur de lys, i am a member of their pie club loyalty card scheme. i always get a nice reception when i enter, and my food is always served to me at a good standard. would, and have recommended it to many of my friends.

i ate at the fleur de lys last night, i see a couple of people have had bad experiences there, me and my friend ate off there pie menu, and would just like to say that the food was gorgeous, my friend was visiting from abroad, and i would definitely not hesitate to bring guests to the fleur de lys again. beautiful traditional english pub, serving good food and good beer.

ATE AT THE FLEUR LAST WEEK DURING THE FLOODS. HAD TO ABANDON MY CAR JUST DOWN THE ROAD. STAFF WERE VERY HELPFUL AND LET ME USE THEIR PHONE TO CALL THE AA, AND THE FOOD I HAD WHILE I WAITED WAS SUPERB.

I WILL DEFINITELY GO BACK, BUT HOPEFULLY I WON'T BE SO WET NEXT TIME

I’m a little confused here. The last review criticises people who drink in a pub but don’t eat there. Excuse me, but this is a pub not a restaurant. By all means eat there if you want to but don’t criticise those who just pop in for a pint! As for being able to scratch names on seats and/or tables; it’s true!. We are not talking about wilful vandalism, simply the grime that can be got off with one’s finger nails. A simple jet wash would restore them to sanitary condition.

we think the THE FLEUR DE LYS is a gem of a pub with excellent food served by very helpful and attentive staff in very nice surroundings. Unfortunately it seems that some people have nothing better to do than scratch their names on pub benches and as far as the people who wouln't eat, but drink there . . . please stay away as you're spoiling it for the many people who visit the Fleur every week and return time and time again.

Several reviews refer to refusal of refunds. Even Burger King of all places offer a full refund if you are not satisfied. Seemingly, the only good reviews here are written by the pub themselves. As for pies being covered in crust from top to toe (to toe?), this does not quite explain why I was offered extra bread because the pie tops were not ready! As for the tables alongside the canal, you can scratch your name in the grime.

I don't know how anyone can write a good review about this pub. We live in Lowsonford and have suffered the complete rudeness of the owners, his sons and his staff. One day we waited 2 hours for our food and, although hungry, we had to leave, as he made us pay up front we requested a refund - can you believe he wouldn't give us one based on the cooking had started!! We have tried this pub on numerous occasions and again and again the staff are just too awful for words! We will drink there but never eat there! Be warned if people are saying good things they can only be related
