My meal was disappointing. I had a prawn salad for the starter. The sauce & prawns were fine, but it says prawn salad. Strangely i expected salad stupid me. However it was just lettuce? No Colour No presentation It would have been nice with tomato, cucumber celery etc. Then i had a mixed grill. Steak tasted like boiled onions & the chicken had been cooked on the same griddle as the gammon & yes it tasted like gammon. I sent the steak back had another one which tasted exactly the same except i asked for medium rare and this one was medium roar. Gave up by then. I asked the waiter if the chef could try the steak and confirm whether it tasted of boiled onions or not. The answer was no.I knew it was going to be a bad night before we ordered the food because i wanted a babycham but "We dont sell it was the reply & the 2nd drink i wanted was out of stock.
A fancy chalk board with fancy prices shame the food doesn't come up to scratch. Maybe if the chef tried his own cooking he might be aware of the blandness of it.

Having just visited the Peacock we were very dissapointed with the meal we had on this occasion.Previously the meals have been superb but there appears to be a change in menu and in food served, no wonder there were not many customers there. It was most certainly not value for money

Absolutely fantastic. Had a great night, service was first class from staff with a good sense of homour and the meal was excellent. Eaten here now 4 times and never been let down. Highly recommended.
