Zafran's Balti

My husband and I went for a meal on Sat 2nd Aug. He is from Northern Ireland so I promised him a balti meal. We went to Zafran's which now seems to be called Isha's. We had a great meal at very reasonable price. Service from entrance to starter was exellent although was alot slower between starter and main course. The restaurant was extremely busy so would not hold this against them.
We would definitely go back, which is always the $64,000 question.

Have to say their starters are the best in the west midlands. their meat naan bread is great. service is spot on wouldn't go anywhere else but there great. what i really love the most is being able to get some fantastic drink's from SPARKLE's wine shop next door which always has a great selection.

We went to Isha's (prreviously known as Zafrans) on the weekend. This was our fist time as the restaurant was reccomended by som friends. The Food was excellent, the atmosphere was vibrant and the staff were extremely helpful and polite. I must say the baltis were excellent as you could clearly taste the fresh produce and spices and when chatting to the owner Iqbal, he cleraly explained how they were Kashmiri's and everything is cooked fresh on order, which is why the food is a bit spicier. I must say me and my friends were very impressed and will definatley be back again. Highly Recommended.

A friend of mine spoke volumes about how good Zafrans was & arranged for my family to go there for a birthday treat.
The service was very poor. Not a smiling face in sight and the food was literally thrown down in front of us as if we had done something wrong. Nevertheless, we persevered and ate the meal, which, compared to the many other establishments in the locality the meal was bland. Still, at the end of meal as the bill was thrust towards us with disdain, which to this day I can't figure out why the staff were like that, considering that we were only one of two parties in the place.
Needless to say, we won't go back.........................

Well we used to eat at zafrans years ago and could not fault the food it was the best in Lye but then disaster struck .... Zafran left and the chefs changed the food went downhill very rapidly so we showed our appreciation by voting with our feet and used other restaurants.
Then just by chance we noticed that new signs we going up and and we thought we would give it a go and guess what The Main Man Is Back. Zafran has returned to Lye along with the best food as usual so sorry to all the other guys we used in his "exile" but we are back to the best in lye,
Bye the way Zafran we will be bringing our freinds for get togethers keep up the good work nice to see you back.

Friday 26th of january: just ordered a chicken naan, a chicken and mushroom balti and a chicken balti with plain rice. My girlfriend loves chicken and mushroom balti but this one ended up in the bin. I got my chicken naan and there was nothing inside of it!!! I phoned up and at first they were very accomodating and said that there had obviously been a mistake and they would send another chicken naan up straight away. Then 2 minutes later my phone rang and it was the restaraunt saying that what I had received was a chicken naan and there was no mistake made. I again told them that there was nothing inside of it and at that he started shouting down the phone that that was all that I was getting and if I wanted to make something of it I was to come down. He was very abusive on the phone and was trying to intimedate me. I did get very angry, after all I had been ripped off and there wasn't a thing I could do about it. So if you want to eat s**t food or get ripped off go to Zafran's Balti!!! I wonder if my comments are going to win me the bottle of champagne?? It's most probably sparkling wine anyway!
