I don't understand why some of the readers try putting this place down first time visited this place. The food was excellent mouth watering still thinking about it. Modern Decor lovely soft lighting very contemporary and very clean. with the polite staff this is definitely my favorite now. We are having our x-mas party there. Its not about quantity its about quality. I must admit we waited a short while for the food but one thing i must point out you can tell difference with fresh cooked and ready cooked its out in 5 minutes like fast food. In future when i am in a rush i will ring and pre-order. Mr Farooq hospitality was amazing all staff very well spoken not like a lot of restaurant where you have communicating problems.

I adore this restaurant, it is clean, has friendly staff and the food is gorgeous. There are Baltis and then theres the Kababish, their Lamb Balti is second to none. We have been there three times over the last six weeks. I recommend it to anyone and challenge anyone who disagrees how nice it is.

I was shocked to read some of these reviews. I have eaten here many times over the past 12 years, both before it was renovated and more recently; i have never had a bad meal and I have always found the staff friendly and helpful. The food can take a little while to arrive but that is because it is individually cooked. The wait is not excessive and I have never had a problem with one persons food arriving later. Its not just my opinion - I have friends who don't agree with my choice of other restaurants but we will often plump for the Kabbabish because its the 'safe' option - the place we all like.

Its also always busy, which in itself is a recommendation - especially in Birmingham where there is so much choice.

I cannot recommend this restaurant. We waited 20 minutes for a menu and a further 20 for the waiter to return. I tried desparately to attract their attention but they all steadfastly refused to make eye contact with me.

A further 15 minutes elapsed and it was then I was told that the dish I had ordered, a fish balti, was off the menu. I re-selected and then my husbands meal arrived, just as I was ordering. Hmmm.

The portions were tiny and the popadums burned. I can't see why anyone would want to eat here with so many other excellent balti houses on the doorstep. The decor looks like something from "Changing Rooms", ten years ago.

i thought the food was very good.the sauces in particular were of a suculant and extravagant taste. the waiting was of a good standard and they were friendly. Also it had a good atmosphere, so over all a great place to eat.

I have lived in Moseley for many years and the renovated Kababish was comfortably the worst dining experience I have had in Birmingham - or anywhere else really. Food was mediocre, atmosphere poor - particularly the lighting which felt more like being under a sunlamp than anything else. Staff were uniformly inattentive and rude - must be a house style.

All the sauces tasted the same and had the same mushed potato consistency. Portions were small in particular the rice but also the naan. The vegetables tasted like they came either out of a tin or in the case of the potatoes the freezer. Service was average and the waiter disappeared with my credit card for over 5 minutes and only processed the transaction after I had pointed this out. There were insufficient toilets which was strange because you could smell them from where we were sitting. Overall, a disappointing and overpriced experience.

Very good, expecially now it has been expanded and renovated. They have a non-smoking section now I think too. Very friendly and good food as always.
