Having been on previous occassions & enjoying the experience & also getting engaged there!. After our 1yr anniversary of getting engaged we thought we would go back there for a romantic meal, however we had to wait for our table for over 40 mins even though we had booked, we finally sat down ordered our drinks, mine arrived 5mins passed we ordered our food asked where my partners drink was the waitress went off to find out then came straight back with our food, which was luke warm which we did mention nothing was done we finally got my partners mojito 20 mins later which apparently takes 29 mins to make??!! the same person decided to take the plates away whilst we were eating!! we asked for the manager or whoever she was, to mention what had happened not only was she extremeley rude & obnoxious she ripped up the bill in front of us screaming at us in front of other customers so after that experience we or our friends that have eaten there on numerous occasions will NEVER EVER eat there again!!

Quite enjoyed the tapas, especially the Anchovies and Chorizo in wine. Friendly staff although we were warned that we must vacate the table by 9.30! Not explained when I booked. Food was average but bread at £2.50 a throw is a rip off. 3 Star rating.

This restaurant is very good in some respects and disappointing in others. The atmosphere is lovely, it has a soft warm wooden hue lit by candles and with mellow back ground music (although KT Tunstall is not very latin!). It is also very cosy and is definately a good place to go for an intimate dinner. The service is friendly and attentive, the staff provide what you need without being too intrusive. The real disappointment though is the disparity between food portion, quality and price. Everything seemed to be overpriced by at least £1-£2. The tapas portions are very small and being very simple dishes do not seem to be any better or more authentic than what the average cook could manage at home. Indeed the Chicken and Spinach pancakes were tasty but absolutely covered in Paprika powder straight from the Tesco's spice range. I'm sure paprika should be cooked into the flavour of the food not liberally chucked all over it, though I may be wrong. The scallops were rubbery and lacked the flavour this quality fish usually posesses (suspect may have been frozen rather than fresh!).The food was very enjoyable but the quality and price do not match up. Prime example; 2 pieces of plain bread at £2.50, say no more!!!
Overall: Lovely place for those who don't mind over-priced food.

I'm an old Moseley-ite so I was pleasantly surprised when we saw La Plancha on a visit to Brum. Unfortunately it was a huge disappointment. This is a perfectly good bar but if you are going to sell yourself as a restaurant then its essential to get the food right and La Plancha doesn't. The hot dishes (meatballs and chicken in red wine) tasted as if they'd come from a can. The peppers in vinegar certainly had come from a jar which is OK but not at £5.00 a throw. On the upside the feta salad and tortilla were OK but again overpriced for the size/ quality.
As lovers of Spanish tapas we were extremely disappointed. It irks me to think that we would have had better food and at a lower price at somewhere like the La Tasca chain (which we are no great fans of either).
The service was fine but considering we were the only diners at a what must be a peak time (Sunday lunch) then perhaps this should be expected.

Paella for 2, priced at £22.00 was not available although it appears on the website menu!
Bread is very expensive, four small baskets cost £10.00
Tapas are very good with a good selection.

This was a great restaurant when it first arrived in Moseley. It is still a good place to go for an enjoyable meal and drink.
The policy seems to have changed though and when we dined with a group we were forced to have the set menu. The food was of average quality but excessive quantity. We were offered no choice over the selection and the pace of service let us know when it was time to go.
The service was attentive though, and the tapas was fairly tasty.

A wide selection of tapas if you are a vegetarian like my wife who has fallen in love with the place. For me, its the steam mussels that keep me coming back. Definately the best kept secret in this neck of the woods as the web site suggests. Find out for yourself!

From reading the reviews I had high expectations and was sadly disappointed by the quality of the food served. Vegetable Paella a particular disappointment: tasteless, rice congealed and hardly any vegetables. Dishes over-priced for poor to mediocre quality. Service friendly though so perhaps we went on an off night.

Large portions of paella and an extensive tapas menu. Too much variety on the tapas menu which is not typical of a tapas bar. Its a prompt service with a good wine list. Will be going back midweek as it was very busy friday evening.
