Ponte Di Legno

Absolutely average. we found out that the chicken was halal, which I think they should at least advertise on the menu. I ended up having to have the fiorentina pizza . 5/10 pizza. express is better and cheaper. The restaurant is arranged too tightly with hardly any room to spare. I dont think they are proper Italians that run the place. I will not be back in a hurry

After reading, several of the reviews on this site we were understandably cautious about going here, but two weeks ago curiousity got the better of us and we a booked a table.
We heard it was best to book the later sitting as the earlier sitting can sometimes be a very rushed affair, which we witnessed when we arrived for the later sitting as a large table was asked to settle the bill and leave as there was about 5 other groups of people waitng to be setaed.
However after a wait of 10 minutes we were promptly seated and provided with menus. We ordered mussels, bruschetta and asparagus wrapped in salmon for starters, which were all very tasty, the mussels were huge and they were beautifully cooked!!!
For our mains we had seafood pasta and sirloin steak and an assortment of sides, the seafood was cooked to perfection and extremely tasty, however the steak was was tasty, if not a litlle chewy (regretted not having the fillet!)
Overall the service was good, the staff were neither rude nor over friendly, they were quick and efficient.
The atmosphere was really good, but be warned they seem to have a lot of large groups dining there, so sometimes it can be a bit noisy, but we personally enjoyed eating in a lively environment.
We really enjoyed our meal here and will definitely be returning soon. The food was quite expensive, however the bring your own policy helped keep the cost down.

Yet again we have been sucked in because Ponte di Legno is the only italian restaurant in Moseley.
Six of us went last night for a family meal. The food was good, but again the service was dreadful. Our table was immediately next to the door with my husband's chair actually blocking a third of the doorway. Every time customers came in, his chair was knocked and a draft of cold air blew in. We mentioned this to the maitre d' who was less than sympathetic, and who took 20 minutes and a second request to move us. We were then squashed into a corner on a table suitable for 4 people. Had it not been a birthday celebration with family travelling over we would have left at that point.
The BYO policy is good but no wine coolers were provided and we had to ask for enough wine glasses.
This is the final time we will visit or recommend the restaurant. Good food no way makes up for discourteous and contemptuous service.

Went there on Sat night after hearing rave reviews from various friends for a while. After finally managing to get a reservation (too busy every other time I called up) headed down and wasnt disappointed. Good quality food, servings and atmosphere. Very lively place. Will definately head back at some point...

We went there for our wedding anniversary on 29 August and were really disappointed. It was probably the noisiest and most crowded restaurant I have ever been to - we had a small table but could not hear ourselves talk, so if you like eating as if you are in a pub saloon when England are playing on the big screen, then it is for you. If not, avoid at all cost!

Wow I disagree with Cliff (previous reviewer) my family, friends and I have always found the service and the management to be exceptionally friendly and efficient! The food is delicious the best Italian, and we've tried many believe me!
The real beauty of this place is the food is reasonable in cost, great in taste and being an unlicenced restaurant its easy to keep costs down and enjoy a fabulous dining experience with friends.
