Visited the restaurant was saturday, the service was very prompt, the starters arrived very soon and what a disappointment!!
The chicken tikka was very hard like it was cooked a few days before and stored in the fridge and the sheek kebab was undercooked ,the waiters took it back and it was alot better, the main course was very poor too,the tikka masalla was to rich too sweet and again they didn t know what to do and again it was changed but it wasn t much better, the nan bread was small but rice was very good though my partner had a Balti chicken and bhindi which was bland no taste at all so wont be going there again sorry!!!
Was it a one off ??? Wont take the risk spending £30 pounds sorry no good

I have regular take-aways from this restaurant and have always been pleased with the food. The restaurant always add a few freebies, usually papadoms and onion salad, and also hot cloths to wipe your hands. The rice is always light and fluffy, the best I have ever had from and Indian restaurant, and there is always just the right amount of meat in proportion to the sauce. The staff are pleasant, even when they are very busy. I would recommend the restaurant to anyone.

As a Birmingham uni student, you're faced with enough Indian restaurants and takeaways to have a different Madras for breakfast, lunch and dinner all-year-round.
However the sundarbon is definitely the place to go. Booked a table before we arrived, good thing to as there was a queue inside. Slightly expensive but well worth the money. Compared to the others on the same stretch, the food always come's out hot, fresh, tasty, WONDERFUL.
The menu offers a variety of selection, everything on there sounds tasty. Service is slightly slow, great atmosphere and a fab selection of music.

Went there for the second time, been there before 8 years ago so presume new owners, pleasant service but the food was the worst we ever tasted. My friends ordered Tikka started which was very hard and chewy and sheek kebab had no flavour and was dry like it was cooked in the mircowave. As for the main cousre the King Prawn was a nice sause but the taste in the balti was so bland no taste or flavour and the tikka masalla was just sweet so much sugar and rice was fluffy and nan was brunt and had a hole in it!!!!.When the servant asked how the food was we said not good at all and all credit he took it back and brought another one, which was not any better. The table of 4 next to us also left alot of the food behind too, whether it was a one off i really dont know, even the table next to us wasn t impressed.so really dont know.the waiters didn t know what to say or how to react to the both tables!!
By the worse we have tasted what happened to the previous Sundarbon???

The food was excellent. As someone who usually went to Restaurants on the North side of Birmingham, I was looking for somewhere close to home that offered a good vegetarian choice, but that offered the whole package of full flavour, choice of food, good service etc. I have been really won over. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We're still eating here fairly frequently. If anything, the food's better and so is the service.
Interesting that the wine list is about 5 times as good as Nathaniel's Restaurant in Moseley! (Though who's going to drink decent red wine with this sort of food?)

As a student there many Indian restaurants to choose from on the Bristol road. However the Sundarbon offers great quality from food to atmosphere.. service could be better however as it is quiet busy it is understandable. Great selection of music and a good vibe.. try it!!!

As a student in selly oak i am faced with the impossible amount of choices fr a takeaway. However, sundarbon offers something which makes you wanna go back - amazing food, value and service, quite simple really!
