went saturday 21/6/08, arrived at 7pm and had to wait 45 mins for a table. it was well worth the wait, the food, service and atmosphere was great, and considering how busy they were it was clean! we will go back.

Very disappinted with this restaurant, went on a very quiet saturday nite and as soon as i entered the establishment i noticed how unclean it was. There was bits of food and tissue on the floor, tables in the bar were sticky, the toilets weren't too bad.

Not very good atmosphere, manager seemed to think he was gods gift to the catering industry. Staff are pleasant but i noticed they were a lot quieter with the manager around. Food was nothing special, could have gone to the harvester next door and had a better meal though i think, i had the chicken club sandwich, the toasted bread was burnt, limp lettuce, dry chicken, bacon too salty.

Value for money - one of the more expensive pubs in the area.

Want a nice evening? Go somewhere else!

This is a great place. Every time me and my family go which is once a month usually i have something different and it never disapoints. There is not as much vegitarean stuff as i would like as my daughter is a veggie but she still manages to get something. It is a very warm atmosphere and the decor is quite rustic, lots of reds and brown. It is very comfortable and the food is equisite. Last time i went i think i had the 10 oz burger with cheese and bacon. Now this was no ordinary burger, it was huge, toppings a plenty. There were tons of chips, lots of peas and a large side salad with a beatiful french dressing. You have to wait a while there but it is definatley worth it.

My husnad and I often like to dine out at expesnive restaurants and as it was our anniversary we chose a special venue in the Plough. I had a surf and turf whilst my husband had the oxtail soup followed by scampi and as a treat we shared some chips. I was dissapointed that when the main meal arrived there were not as many peas as I would have hoped also, the onion rings seemed a tad soft for my liking. My husband tucked into his scampi with delight as the breadcrumbs were particularly crispy. The service let us down in that our waitress had gravy down her blouse and constantly sneezed when bringing over our orders. The half lager I had was cold as were the garlic mushrooms. Finally value for money. For £9.99 for two I expected more from this establishment but the atmosphere made up for it as there was a hen night in which gave us all a rather jolly evening. Especially the stripper called David! Makes a change from the Saracens head in Shirley, which has got a bit tired. Would definately come back - going to try the lasagne next time.
