Plume of Feathers

The staff in both the restaurant and the bar are just not good enough. At the bar you get served with a grunt and I actually had one lad slam a pint of beer down in front of me spilling it every where. There was no apology nor indeed was it topped up, appaling! You have to find a waitress if you want to order something after your carvery as they don't come to you in my experience. The carvery is very good although the gravy seems rather tasteless of late. The room can get over crowded and this was very uncomfortable during the summer, despite doors being left open

I took my Mother to the Plume of Feathers for her 86th Birthday last week. The food was first class, fresh and well presented, with a good selection on the carvery. The staff were helfull and pleasant. The restuarant was clean and comfortable. I am very fussy where and what I eat, but, I enjoyed the meal as did my Mother. Taking my husband next time so he can see for himself.
