Orange Tree

Before dining there last night, my previous visit was almost two years ago. What a huge difference! While before this was a truly classy and un ique place where cusine was second to none, these days it has become a place where cloth napkins have disappeared, no dedicated steak knifes are provided (for steaks!) and where ketchup is served froma small Heinz bottle like in any given (admittedly 'high-market') canteen. The beautiful decor is still there and so are the big prices which somehow are not in agreement with the pre-prepared dips of today which come to the table with that hint of a starting-to-form crust on top.
Cutting corners is now the name of the game here.
Was mostly disappointed and that is just a shame.
Oh... did I mention the level of noise?

I last ate at the Orange Tree about 6 months ago when we took both sets of our parents out. We had a lovely table set out of the way so it was more like private dining.
The menu has plenty of choice with an Italian slant and I actually found it really hard to pin it down to only one of each course as they all sounded so delicious.
Decor is very modern but in a traditional pub with wooden beams - really funky but very relaxing and cosy at the same time.
Prices are reasonable and like I said the choice is vast and all sounds delicious.
There's also plenty of parking so if you must drive then you'll have no problem.

I visited the Orange Tree in January with a couple of friends. I was immediately impressed by the decor. Food was great - I had the Thai Fishcakes as a starter followed by a Pizza. At £25 per head, this was well worth a visit and I would definitely go back.

I visted the Orange Tree with a group of friends and was immediately impressed with the atmosphere and the gorgeous interior design. The food was amazing, the pizzas are just as they should be and my Caesar salad was the best I'd ever had. The service was friendly and prompt and the bill wasn't outrageously high. The Orange Tree is a lovely, comfortable pub with a lovely decked garden and great staff. I shall definitely visit again.
