I've come onto web looking for telephone number and thought I'd add my 've eaten here 4 times within 2 years and have thoroughly enjoyed it every time. Always great service, great food, lovely location and atmosphere. Hopefully going again for my birthday. Not the cheapest place but a great value set menu.

First time visitor to this restaurant, which catered for 16 of us plus the place was packed anyway. I couldn't have been more impressed. The place reminds me of a Scottish Lodge, with stunning views over the lake. The decor is friendly and the staff proffesional and courteous. The food was excellent and well spaced. They helped us with birthday cake, candles etc and all in all I was extremely satisfied with the meal and service.

After many enjoyable meals at the Boathouse, we decided to treat my mother-in-law to a meal at the Boathouse for her birthday (Aug 06). We were very disappointed with the portions and quality of the food on this occasion, every course was very small and for the first time we all left feeling hungry. We were not offered bread and the vegetables were just enough for 2 not 3.

Went here on a Saturday night, our first visit. The place was full and quite busy. The food was excellent, we chose off the a la carte menu, my partner has 3 courses, I had two nad we both had alcoholic drinks. The bill was about £70 which I thought was reasonable. I would recommend making an effort to dress up smart casual. Most people were older and the men wearing shirt and blazer. I felt lucky we didn't wear jeans! The service was very good. Overall, I very enjoyable visist and would defintiely go there again - possibly in the day to see the lovely lakeside view!

The sevice at this restaurtant has plummeted since a change 'front of the house' personnel. The food remains excellent and reasonably priced.
We dined there on a Saturday night when they seemed to have crammed just too many people and tables in.
Staff just seemed poorly motivated and disinterested.
*We had to ask to order after 30 mins
*We had to ask for bread
*An order for water was forgotten
*Only 1 order of potatoes arrived for 6
*We had to ask for dessert menus
*We had to ask twice for our desserts despite it being 10.45ish and the place was emptying
The atmosphere was spoilt by allowing smoking in such a small, crowded area.
We have visited the Boathouse on many occasions. Our advice is 'Get back a good experienced manger!'

Took my wife and two young sons here for lunch on a Saturday. Good choice from the set menu. Very asty food, great portions, plenty of vegetables and choice of three potatoes (spring onion mash, new jersey potatoes and french fries!). I had the vegetarian gateaux as a main, which was covered in applewood smoked cheese - butternut squash and aubergine delightfully tasty. My wife and son had the leg of Cornish roast lamb, which was a little pink but full of flavour and my youngest had grilled fresh salmon in a 4 cheese sauce. great value too. Only £11.95 for two courses and total bill came to less than £60 with drinks and tip.
