The Boathouse at Bracebridge

The service is appalling, there used to be wonderful young waitress there full of life but perhaps she has left through want of better colleagues, often rude and ill mannered the staff are lazy and left our table un cleaned or un seen to several times throughout the night, this is a shame as the location is fabulous and although the food took a long timee to come, as usual the food is okay although the vegtables looked microwaved and had been under a heat lamp for a while! Location recommended for a sit by the lake, but perhaps best to take a flask and a picnic!

OK it was a Saturday night. and you expect restaurants to be busy, BUT I don't expect to wait 15 mintues to be asked if we wanted drinks...10 minutes for drinks to arrive, and once we'd managed to place our food order, a further 40 minute wait for food.

The food was above average but not matched to the steep prices, and with our side orders not arriving, and staff being non too willing to sort it out, I was left somewhat disappointed.

Not a place for a roamantic meal as since the restaurant taken on a "rustic" wooden feel, it becomes very noisey very quickly.

Overall - Fantastic location but let down by its waiting staff, and the lack of attention to detail.

After walking in Sutton Park on a Saturday lunchtime the plan was to see if we could get a coffee before we continued walking. The staff were extremely helpful and happy for us to just have coffees, but we decided to have a look at the menu anyway and ended up having a 3 course fixed price lunch which was fantastic value for money. Staff were great, attentive and very accomodating given that we were dressed for walking not dining out! We were that impressed that we tried to book for one of their theme nights but unfortunately it was fully booked.

Recommend this place to anyone, whatever the occasion and we will definately be back there, lunch, dinner or just for a coffee!

Went for Sunday lunch last week. The set menu was super, with excellent variety of food for all. The food was lovely!

On the other hand the service was rubbish! The staff took a long time to serve us, forgetting / not bringing parts of our order for every course and avoiding our table so they did not have to 'deal' with the problems.

Food great but remember to remind the staff if you are missing anything!

A hidden gem!

A perferct place for a family celebration lunch. Setting is lovely.

The service was extremely efficient and friendly, food is outstanding value for money ,especially the deserts! What more could you ask for

I can highly recommend this restaraunt and will certainly be returning eventhough I live in Shropshire

A group of 6 of us went on Saturday night. And frankly we were completely disgusted by the service we reecived. The food was average at best, we waited over 40 mins for our starters, and over 40 mins for our main. When the main finally arrived ,half of our side orders did not..until we were half way through! No apology was given. We were then ignored for the rest of the night, when they finally did clear our table they took away my half drunk GnT and later took away my half drunk water! We had to ask for Coffees and at no point was a dessert menu even offered. The whole night was terrible, the staff behaved like it was just too much trouble to even come close to friendly and capable service. I will never go there again. We would have complained there and then but we couldnt find anyone!

We went to the Boathouse for a special Birthday treat and what a treat it was. The restaurant was lovely, the staff were very friendly and polite and the food was outstanding.

This was the 2nd time I myself had visited and was pleased that the standards hadn't changed and was glad to have suggested this venue for the occassion. 10/10

Looking forward to the next visit.
