Rucci Contemporary Tandoori

• Not recommended.

• Sign outside the door is probably the only nice thing about this restaurant.

• Interior décor ok.

• Lamb starter very hard – not at all succulent – waiter even admitted it, told off his chef but did not reflect this in the final bill.

• Main courses small in portion and ridden with oil, despite us requesting the exact opposite.

• Bearing in mind we were the only party in the restaurant, the service was very inflexible – they ran out of ice because “we don’t cater for big parties” – there were 10 of us (including 3 kids). I kindly requested he pop into the convenience store next door and get some ice. He refused twice and then finally agreed (there was no one else in the restaurant but us so you’d have thought that he’d be send one of the five staff to buy the ice.

• Humid and claustrophobic inside but he claimed that the Air Con wasn’t working (I don’t believe him) – he offered to open the main door instead.

• I had booked a table using the Invitations discount card which entitles me to 25% off my final bill – but he was not forthcoming with this when he presented me the bill – I had to remind him before he reluctantly re-adjusted the price.

• I shall never step into this place again – but that’s me. Feel free to try it yourselves.
