We are regulars here!! Never had a bad meal. In fact we would never go to another Balti. Extensive menu! Celebratory Fish platter is lovely. Service is normally fast and efficient.
Owner is lovely! Always visit on special occasions! Recommend

Very nice food, never had a bad meal. Quickish service. Good range of drinks. Staff are friendly. Modern.
Only bad things i have to say is they offered us a free bottle of tia maria, only to find out later they had put it on the bill! And then once they said £10 was missing from the bill, which was impossible as we counted it several times, but we paid it anyway just to keep the peace.
But food, service and atmosphere make up for it, and i would recommend!!!

The Malabar is brill!!! The staff are so helpfull and overly friendly [ if you could be overly...] The food is so delicious and the flavours so suttle that the spices blend and titilate on your tongue for hours later.
I would whole heartedly recomend the Malabar to anyone, those that love indian food and those who arent quite sure, the Malabar has more than enough range to suit any pallets....

The food was ok along with the surroundings. I didnt feel all the staff were friendly enough and I did not like this waiting by the bar thing when others were eating food and had a backside in the face type style potential issue. You know your eating and somebody waiting is studying your plate?
When you pay good money you dont expect that and I would not say I wouldnt go again but I would try other places to see if I could find better.
They do offer you a "paid in with your price but not shown free drink" as you wait for a takeaway. Advise you to take this as you have probably paid for it anyway! !

A well established, friendly place with excellent food and refurbished 2007.
My daughter & husband regularly travel from Leicester and my wife & I go from Shirley, 45 mins drive.
Full of families and young groups who know their stuff.
Great menu choice.
Licensed but no draft beer and don't mind BYO. Off Licence 20 yds away.
