went here for a romantic meal with my hubby, it was a beautiful restaurant the decor is wonderful i especially loved the little waterfall and colourful fish. the food was excellent, hot and very tasty no complaints about the food at all and the service was 5 star our waiter was extremely polite and saw to our every need, we wil definatly be going back.
prices are very good £12 for a starter a main course you cant complain about that can you? if i was forced to critise anything al i would say is the tables could be a little further away from each other lol
other wise i highly reccommend this place to anyone whether it be a romantic meal for 2, family evening out or if your getting the family together for birthdays ect

Friday 8th February four of us went to Sofia's for a rare night out - we had read and heard mixed reviews.
What a fabulous night - polite, friendly and attentive staff expecially Lex our waiter. We had three courses each and plenty of wine and the bill only came to £95.00.
The food is superb, lots of variety and good sized helpings.
The actual building is lovely and the back garden where we went for a sneaky cigarette extremely pleasant.
Thanks all at Sofia's for a great night all round.

i love this resturant.
the food is awesome and when i do agree with some comments from other users.
when booking over the phone the person who takes your order always seems angry and wants to put the phone down.
service is ok,sometimes they dont follow up to ask how the meals are, sometimes they do.but i always have to nag the waiters for the menu...3 or 4 times.
the menu and the meals are fantastic and the building is very impressive.
parking (if they dont open the main car park within the building) is a real pain in the a** as there are only about 7-8 spaces on the small one by the building, leaving you to park on the road.
the overall experience is great and will fully reccomend it to anyone.

IGNORE EVERYONE ELSE AND READ THIS!!!
You're all talking about a Sofias from a long time ago! After eating there today I was VERY IMPRESSED - I'm someone who is hard to please and will happily complain if I need to!!
THE FOOD WAS AMAZING!! It's without doubt the BEST ITALIAN FOOD I have eaten without question, partly down to the talented Italian chefs in the kitchens and partly down to using top notch ingredients.
The service was great! the atmosphere was great, the building is impressive - I haven't got a bad word to say! The only problem was; we all ate so much we couldn't manage desert!!
I URGE all the people who wrote the other reviews to go back and try again now - my experience was FANTASTIC and the prices were INCREDIBLE.
GO AND TRY SOFIAS! It was AMAZING!!!

Went last night, I second the previous comment. We had 1 round of drinks, a starter and a main, no one seemed to know what was going on, orders were mixed up, then the food itself wasn't that great. It took us over 3 hours from sitting down to leaving, then only managed that after nagging three different waiters to get us the bill. My word of advice would be to go to the Pizza Hut by The Wharf!!

I came here for my birthday, the food was great, i really enjoyed it. I must admit though they did take too long for the main course to be served. If you plan on spending the whole evening there to eat, then i highly recommend it!

They don't want your custom, they are very rude and the food is not italian food whatsoever. It doesn't matter who cooks it, it just isn't italian, is that too much to expect from a "traditional italian restaurant"? I've had better service at McDonalds. Oh and not forgetting your rushed through your meal as quickly as possible even though there's no-one else waiting in the waiting area for a table!!

Firstly it’s very romantic inside with fairy lights and candles, and there is also good parking but that’s about as far as the positives go.
They appear to have refurbished the entrance in some DFS, reject, plastic sofa (red and very tacky).
The woman who greeted us was very harsh, rude and had terrible make up (her eye brows were pencilled on green- no joke its worth going just to have a peek). The waiters at first gave good service but they never followed up to see if we were enjoying our meal or if they could bring us more drinks even when they collected our empties!
The garlic mushrooms were delicious and would recommend them if you are forced to eat there.
However, the main meal was bland and quite disappointing (Between us we had the Bolognese pizza and I had the special ravioli) Considering your main dish is around £13.00 we all agreed it was over priced since I’ve had microwave pasta meals that tasted a damn sight better. On a positive note my one friend did say the vegetable lasagne was eatable.
The food on a whole wasn’t worth the money; the service was appalling we were made to wait nearly half an hour for our bill until we had taken it upon ourselves to pay for meal at the entrance! We had to wait there also until our green eye browed friend decided she better take our money. She was rude, no apology and not even a thank you or goodbye.
I'm not the only one who has been disappointed with the food/service.
Once upon a time ****** was a place were we would often celebrate birthday, lunch or just socialise now I would rather eat at pizza hut.
You have been warned.
