Saxon Mill

I have on occasion frequented this idyllic establishment. it's location astride a mill pond gives it a unique setting. The managment and staff have on every occasion gone out of their way to give good service with a friendly smile. The menu is diverse and the food is good. I highly recommend this establishment and its staff.

Four ladies from our office went to The Saxon Mill last night even though locally it has a poor reputation for service. The food was fine (when it eventually came) and the setting is superb. However the service really was as bad as people had told us it was. When asked by one member of staff who had served us (after waiting an hour for the bill) we were told it was the Manager - and 'now you know why we are as we are'she said....erm --a good 'front of house' restaurant manager is needed here!!

I went to the saxon mill pub, a couple of weeks ago on a lovely warm day, I had a friend over from Australia and wanted to take him somewhere nice. I have to say that this pub is probably the nicest pub I have even been to in my life. Location and setting are second to non. We sat outside for Sunday dinner overlooking the most picturesque setting you could imagine. The food and service were great, The staff are friendly, the clientelle were equally friendly, and we had a thoroughly brilliant day. I should really keep this pub quiet.
