The Swan Inn

Appalling service, booked a table two weeks in advance for a party of six for Mothers Day. We arrived 15 minutes early to be told that we had no booking. When they looked again, they found that they had the table booked under a badly mispelt version of our name, on the wrong day (3 days early) for 4 people but...the two phone number we left them were in fact correct...but NO phone calls were made or received.

After waiting patiently for 15 minutes, without any apology whatsoever (even a sorry would have been nice) we were told that they couldn't cater for us.

I took my wife, mother, and disabled father there one busy lunchtime, and the host saw that we were looking around for a suitable place to sit, and allowed us all to sit in the restaurant area AND order from the bar menu... Very polite, superb ales, excellent atmosphere a definite jewel in the crown in the world of cloned cash making machines.
