Visited recently with a large family group. The place was empty but service was pretty dreadful and it took ages to get a drink. We kept being told to go to a table and wait, even though we said we weren't staying to eat with the rest of the group. Then we were undercharged by a barman that was allegedly new. The manageress came over after several of us had left the bar area and was quite rude to us. She insisted that we had to pay the extra due, and indeed had to consume the drinks as she had taken the bottle caps off. She then made a comment, within earshot of several guests that the party members looked miserable. This incensed some to the degree that they refused to eat a meal there. I can't tell you what the food was like as I left as quickly as I could and headed off to the local for a burger and chips, at least the staff there are pleasant. Not sure how they stay in business with an attitude like that.

Visited on a Saturday night and suffice to say the service was shambolic. Waited so long for a drink that I went to the bar with one of my dining companions to order. Was told in no uncertain terms to sit down and someone will take the order. No water on the table - radiators full blast... Food took an age to arrive but was ok. Some confusion as the waiter did not know what he was serving and several dishes were served to wrong diners!! Again like pulling teeth trying to get more drinks. Constant stream of apologies and excuses for late arrival of food and drink. The restaurant is quite large, sited in a former pub. There were only two waiters and the female proprietor to serve and they obviously can't cope.

No atmosphere as such, toilets a disgrace and a real struggle to enjoy what is surprisingly very good food. Previously I've eaten at the restaurant when it was in West Bromwich. It was much smaller and was always packed - the food is worth it. However by moving to larger premises the staff ratio has not been changed hence the Fawlty Towers quality of service. If ever there was a need for Gordon Ramsey to visit a restaurant to make improvements then Casa Mia should be top of the list.

A real pity. I would not personally visit again at least not on a Saturday night.

I visited Casa Mia last night and can honestly say I was pleasantly suprised.

A friend had talked me into going for her birthday and after reading the reviews I wasn't looking forward to it but she said she'd been before and really enjoyed the food.

I admit that it was a Tuesday evening and wasn't overly busy but I had prepared myself to wait for my meal but didn't have to wait as my meal turned up five minutes later. No cold food, no waiting, no rude staff and (thankfully) no need to complain. Just good food and good company.

I will be going back in the near future

Very Very poor service was not happy! It was my husbands birthday we went on the off chance to see if there was a table free the manageress told us there was a table free as a couple hadn't turned up.We sat and ordered drinks after finishing our drinks our menu still hadn't arrived so I asked for it the manageress came over and said "Im sorry but the people that were late have now turned up" (although over 30 mins late!!!! "so you will have to leave"

I explained it wasn't good enough and that we had eaten their and the previous restaurant she had worked in (la casa west bromwich) and couldn't she turn them away she then said "no" I refused to pay for the drinks and at that she said you will still have to pay for the drinks. My husband was appaled and worked out so I was left to pay for the drinks!!!! AS we have been once before this I can say

The food is average don't have the steak if you ask for it too be well done it is rare and viceversa they have kept friends of ours waiting hours we have gone in had starters main and dessert and they have been still waiting for main when we are about to leave. over priced and undercooked!!!

A party of 8 went for a meal on Saturday night. The staff were stressed and very rude! We ordered starters and mains which were all very nice the Sea Bass in particular was very good. We proceeded to order deserts we ordered a Panna Cotta however what we actually got was a Creme Caramel. We asked for this to either changed or removed from the bill as it wasn't what we asked for and to my surprise we had two waiters who were quite rude saying that it was Panna Cotta and that we were wrong and that is what it comes in like. As anyone who knows anything about food would know these two dishes are quite different! The manageress then came over and without asking what the problem was went on to state that it was indeed creme caramel as the panna cotta wasn't very good?!? When asked why the waiters weren't aware of this fact or why we weren't advised when ordered she said i'll sort it and walked off. When the bill came it did have the dessert on so we discounted this ourselves paid and left. Will not be going bcak again which is a shame as the food was really very good.

Casa Mia,

Well what can I say arrived approx 7.30 on Sat evening. Very busy good atmosphere. Waited and waited. While we sat there two people sent their meals back - one because meal was cold and the other becauseit was the wrong order. Waited one and half hours for our meal which was OK nothing earth shattering but pleasant enough. Ordered dessert and waited and waited in the end we gave up asked for bill yes youve guessed waited and waited. In the end we walked up to the bar moaning for England all the quite ignorant lady at the bar said well you can see how busy we are. Wont be visiting again.

Casa Mia Has to be the best restaurant i have ever been to....its the only restaurant i will ever take people to be entertained or for special occasions....yes the service is a little slow but its well worth the wait once the food arrives...all cooked fresh & all flavours can be tasted.

The price is very reasonable considering how fresh the food is & i would defeniatly compare this against any leading restaurant in Birmingham town centre.

went to casa-mia 25th october 2007 with friends from work to wish one of them a fond goodbye. We took up 3 tables. The staff appeared to be stressed before we even ordered drinks never mind food. They didnt smile and one even told us not to ask one waiter anything because it was his first day. As with other reviews the food was good when we eventualy received it , it was hot and very tasty .but i must say the service was very slow ,so slow infact that i couldnt stay for sweet or coffee, as the time so so late

Maybe they were short of staff i dont know, there didnt appear to be many staff working
