i'm really shocked in what people are saying about the copper bowl, at the end of the day if you don't like it, don't go back then. however when myself and a whole group of went to dine there, there was not 1 thing that we didn't like. the food was great, the service was great, the atmosphere was great and most of all the value for money was unbelievably great. someone wrote down how the waiters and waittresses just grab the plates well mate unless you wanted your plates to pile up then i suggest you hush it. before myself and the group of us went there, i wen't there with my hubby and this 1 waitress was so nice, she would stand stand a step away from our table till we finished talking then she would apologize for interupting and ask if we wanted her to take the plates away and she was also soo adorbale and smiley, bless her. overall i would recommend this restruant to anyone and everyone as it's so fantastic. thank you 2 the copper bowl for 2 great services and i'll be back there soon

can i just say a do not agree with the good comments but the bad ones, me and my parents dinned at the copper bowl on february 29th and we found it very unappealing by the eyes, ears and by the taste of the food as it was dry and cold. staff consantly chattering and giving abusive looks at each other and grumpy staff cant be botherd to smile, i will never go back there even though i hear some good comments.

i recentley visited this restaurant with my wife on thursday, it was the first time for me but my wife usually dines here with her friends.

i have to say it is a good restaurant, service is good and the atmosphere is just right.

the range of food is excellent wth this idea of a chinese and indian fusion, more starters than main course but to be honest im not complaining becuase i prefer my starters anyway.

the staff are always smilling and we even got to meet one of the chef who i think looks after the buffet. its good to know people who cook your food!

the bill was well priced and i think one of the other reviewers mentioned below that it is cheaper than ala cart, i think it is a bargin to be honest and if theres any chaps reading this the women get complimentary rose.

that kept me in the good books with the missus LOL.(Thanks guys)

after reading the comments made below i do agree with some but not all and we are all entitled to our own opinions.

I dined at the popular eaterie and have heard mixed reviews about the place but then again you cant judge a book by its cover !!

A group off 8 of us dined there back last month and initial impression was good with the staff greeting us on entrance and had a good vibe by its warm athmosphere. The selection for what you are paying for is rather exceptional and works out cheaper to your ala-carte venues.

As the occasion was a birthday party and we were suprised by the staff by a complimentry birthday cake and my friend had there pic taken which i thought was a good gesture wrapping up a fantastic evening (cake a pic was free)

the prices was consistant and we shall be definatly going back and will reccomend it to others indeed.

I went to the copper bowl a few weeks back and i thought it was a great venue for me and my friends to dine. The variety they offer on the buffet was fantastic, I couldn't believe they had chinese and thai on top of the indian food. Plus the fact that it was eat as much as you like we could'nt complain!! The service was of a high standard , I will be definitley going back in the near future and would recommend to people

the copper restaurant is a fantastic place. never been before and we ended up going on a sunday where it was a special offer of £8.95 i think!

i was hesitant to book a table as i have heard mixed reviews people having bad experiences as shown below but also my friends who have been there before who thought it was good.

the food was excellent and the service was good as you would expect. the atmosphere is good as well. the 3 in 1 buffet is superb as it unusaul to see indian chinese and thai in the same place.

the drinks i do agree is over priced but i think the value of the food range you are getting probably reflects on the price of drinks.

i would go back but most likely on a sunday as its cheaper and not as busy as stated below by the other reviewers.

Now, reading some of these other reviews, i appear to have found some errors. If we are indeed talking about the same restaurant, other reviews seem to have been mistaken on numbers. Every one has their own opinion, and the variety may have changed between my own visit and anothers, but i found the number of possible indian dishes (taking dish to be the main part of a main course, e.g a curry) to be 4, chinese to be around 6 (although the majority of these were extremely dry noodles) and probably about 2 thai dishes (although these were just thai style chicken legs). There was a host of starters, all to a more than acceptable standard, leading to me eating picky stater type foods for most courses, including dessert (i do love prawn crackers and prawn toast).

The quality of the food was quite poor, with the indian being very bland, obviously to cater for people who cant even stand the heat of a british summer, and the chinese food, consiting almost wholely of 'such and such with noodles' was very VERY dry, probably due to the overhead lights. Again, the starters were nice, but you cant go wrong with deep fried.... well, deep fried anything, taking into account most starters were deep fried.

The resturant is advertised as Indian, Chinese, Thai, and English, the first problem with this is what appears to be a lack of actual thai food. Instead, your presented with a chinese dish with the word 'thai' put before it on the label. Another problem with this cultural diversity is the english part. Now, im not complaining about english things being on the buffet, everyone likes chips, but carrots, roast potatoes, ready meal style beef and chicken slices and bisto gravy is not what i'd expect at a resturant like this, especially not such a vairety that almost equals that of both the indian and chinese together.

I have yet to mention the desserts. The desserts i cant really comment on, as i didnt try them, or rather couldn't. Every time i approached what i assumed to be a 'self service' freezer full of three flavours of ice cream (count them, vanilla, chocolate and strawberry), i was pounced upon by a very grumpy waiter who was very rude and abrasive. This waiter was not willing to allow me to choose my dessert, but instead put a bit of everyhting in a bowl, whether i liked it or not. There is however, a seperate menu for ice cream based dessets (such as mint icecream), but this is at additional cost.

The drinks were extremely over priced. Now, a normal coke, lemonade, (etc) dispenser at a pub mixes carbonated water with a syrup. This process costs the company around 10p per pint of soft drink, meaning most pubs/resturants charge around £1.50 for a pint of coke. The copper bowl charges £2.50. These drinks are also served to you warm, with not a hope of ice or a lemon, unless you grab a speedy waiter. Also, theres no chance of a glass of tap water if you have a cough, or just wanted something to wash that popadom down with, because you cant have tap water, it says so on little signs by the bar, and im sure the waiter will bring your attention to these signs when you ask for water. If you do wish for a glass of water, be prepared to pay yet more money.

The service at the copper bowl does come with a smile, and all the staff are only too willing to serve you. I do however, get the distint impression they wished to get rid of me. My lovely girlfriend had only taken one breath after her first mouthful of food, to see a hand attempt to pull her plate away from her. Im not complaining about the servers eager attitude, but being hovered around leaves quite an uncomfortable feeling, especially when you have to repeatedly tell waiters and wiateresses that you have not finished. The average time (yes i did work it out) for an empty plate to leave the table was 3 seconds. In fact, i felt standards were slipping when it took over a minute for my fathers empty plate to be whisked away!

All in all, it was not a complete disaster of a meal, however i will not be returning to the copper bowl, especially when for 4 adults and one child, each having at most two drinks (3 members of the party only having soft drinks), the bill totalled nearly £90. I would not recommmend the copper bowl to anyone.

I, am a curry lover, When i first come to Wolves recently i saw this resturant driving up here.

It is..the worst one Ive ever been too. Seriously people, avoid. The meat is dry, the sauce is bland, the mint sauce is a new type made with cornflower which only seems to appear round these parts that is cheap and nasty. If this does not convince you i invite you to go along and Baulk at the prices of the drinks on your bill while your freaked out by the soft toy collection. CS

I visited this restaurant as a party of five (4 adults and one child) for the first and last time. It was a very busy Friday night, the buffet service gave a distinct impression of a busy self service canteen, The majority of the party wasn't particularly impressed with the standard or variety of the food but this may be because they try to cater for to many tastes. The choices offered are Indian, Chinese, Thai and English. The quality of food wasn't particularly good and the curries were watery. We went to this particular restaurant because some members of the party wanted to eat Indian and some wanted Chinese. This type of restaurant is only cost effective for people who like to try different foods or pile their plates and keep returning for more helpings. However if you like dessert you could be disappointed as your only choice is cheap vanilla, chocolate or strawberry ice-cream. There was a separate menu of other desserts (all ice-cream based) at an extra cost. There was a waiter dispensing the ice-cream, who was very grumpy. My child took time deciding on his choice of flavour, the waiters response was impatient, rude and intolerant. Three of the party ordered soft drinks which were served warm and we had to ask for ice to make them palatable to drink. Waiters were like flies.......waiting to collect plates, on occasions before you were finished, giving the distinct impression they wished to hurry you through the meal in order to fill the table again.
