Decor was great - if a little dark. On a busy night the atmosphere would be great!

Service was slow – staff were not very helpful - the waiter provided us with one-word answers to our questions - not a happy chap! Food was good but not amazing bearing in mind the prices! I would not be in a hurry to go back! To some up Kavi’s in one word – adequate!

The setting for this restaurant is superb, contempory and inviting. The waiters pleasant and helpful. WE ordered poppadums to start and were surprised to find they did not come with onions or tomatoes, just sauces. Never mind, one has to have an open mind, on with the starters. I had Tandoori Rabbit. Judging by the portion sizes- the rabbit must have been annorexic. Just 4 very small pieces of rabbit pushed to the corners of the plate and a 1" diameter portion of creamed onions sitting centrally. Don't get me wrong, it was well prepared, but just not enough to satisfy.

Never mind, onto the main event...

Duck with Canadian rice. mmmm sounds interesting. Until it arrived on a rectangular plate with about 8-10 very small slices of duck in what tasted suspiciously like dark soy sauce. Nothing else- no onions, peppers, mushrooms - nothing but the duck and a small pot of rice. My wife had Lamb Biriyani and we shared a plain Naan. The Naan was superfluous as she had no vegetable curry with her meal and I only had soy sauce to dip into.

We were so disappointed that we decided not to waste any more of our hard-earned cash at this establishment, and to skip dessert. So we just had coffee which was tasteless and came without sugar, which we had to ask for twice before it arrived.

So to sum-up.

Lovely setting.

Nice decor.

Polite staff.

Food reasonably well-prepared.

Portion sizes meagre.

Menu odd.

Costs too high for what you get.

Value for money- very very poor.

Would I go again?

Absolutely not
