Asha's Indian Bar and Restaurant

well Asha's has been my favourite dining restaurant since my first visit 8 months back, and its always getting better for me :-)
first of all i dont find any restaurant serving food which even matches asha's and the service is just right.I had tried they varied foods and everything has got it own distinctive taste and aromas.
i have seen this restaurant getting busier with time and its quite sure that it will be the busiest in coming years....all the best to asha's. Thanks for lovely experience always.

I was taken to Asha's last night by a work colleague, and I can tell you now I certainly wont be going back! There were three of us at the table, and by the end of our meal we were all lamenting the service we received. It took a reasonable amount of time for our starters to arrive, and very nice they were, but an hour after entering the restaurant we were still waiting on our main courses.
When they did arrive one of our party was given the wrong dish. We were told not to worry and that the correct dish would be with us in five minutes. To be fair to Asha's it was, but our problem was with the service more than the food. Our waiter was exceptionally rude. He made the somewhat odd ofer of giving us the incorrect dish for free in addition to bringing the corect one, but since we didn't ask for it in the first place we had no intention of paying for it anyway! He then insisted on standing over that member of the party for a good minute or so trying to force them to take the dish as it was "rude to watch other people eating"; as if this guy can lecture anyone on manners!
The waiter continued to be short and abrasive with us, and afterwards when we queried the bill he insisted that not charging us for a dish we hadn't ordered anyway was fantastic compensation. Fortunately the manager could understand our grievance and removed one of our mains from the menu, which seemed reasonable enough.
I would describe the food as good, but certainly not excellent when you consider the price. In view of this and the abominable service we received I'm afraid I wouldn't recommend Asha's. There is better food to be had at a more reasonable price elsewhere, and with much better service.

I visited the Asha"s with 4 friends for the first time last night, and found the food did live up to its reputation. We all enjoyed our starters although the samosas were a bit hollow in parts but tasty.
The main courses were also good especially the Lamb Rogan Josh with huge pieces of tender lamb. We didn't mention the two main courses for one offer as I took it that if you dined there on a Tuesday evening before 21.30 that everyone would automatically receive this discount. However when the bill arrived the full five main courses were on there. I was prepared for this as I read another review before my visit which said the same thing. When we pointed this out the waiter amended the bill by reducing it by one main course. We were a little mistified by this and asked why only one was taken off instead of two, the waiter then explained that as two of us had a birianyi these didn't come under the main course page, so as we had only 3 meals from the main course page only one was free. Obiviously they don't mention the two for one or that a Birianyi isn't included to save money which seems very penny pinching. If the staff were more helpful I may consider another visit.

At the first look it seems that Asha's is a contemporary restaurant with its modern ambience and service, we thought the food will be same as the one served in central london i.e preplated individual portions.
but to our delight, we were served with the best indian meal in U.k.The portion size were big enough to share and the taste was fabulous. I would like to thank the chef for the barrah lamb chops and the chicken biryani, which were rightly done.
the service was bit unattentive, but the server had enough knowldge of the food and drinks, cucumber lemonade was quite nice!
the only negative marks goes to the toilet, as the one of the tap was broken and other too hard to operate.
in all a definite try, if one likes a variety of indian food(and ofcourse with great taste)

had our first visit to Asha's after trying almost all Indian restaurants in the town , and trust me Asha's is far ahead.
we arrived with a group of friends on thursday evening and were satisfied to see a good running indian resturant!!
a very nice ambience, attentive service and exceptional food.
we gave a try at their new menu, which included a pepper cream chicken, lobster and a spicy chicken tikka, each spoke of a different taste and aromas.
my wife liked the dal makhani and praised as if she's is in India and we all enjoyed our meal after a long. thanks to Asha's team for this

Visited Asha's about a week ago, from the moment me and my wife stepped through the door we were amazed to see such a beautiful decor. However our amazement soon ran out after waiting to be seated for at least 5 minutes. After being seen to from one of the bar staff, we were told to be seated in the bar area until a table was made, considering it was 7pm and the restaurant was quite empty.
15 minutes later we were seated and our orders were taken, the drinks, which was only a glass of coke and a cup of coffee, took about 15 minutes before it actually reached our table, accompanied by our starters, which again was very disapointing, as the chicken tikka kebabs were charcoal burnt and the general taste very bland!!!
After experiencing the kebabs we had our main meal which consisted of the panjim fish curry and my wife being vegetarian, a dhaal. The fish curry was tasty however cold, and the dhaal was like eating a pot of cream, again it was very bland and extremely creamy.
After experiencing the food we were asked if we would like dessert by our waiter. However after such poor food, i could only refuse and ask for our bill.
Overall experience was terrible, poor service, very poor food, and very overpriced!!!

went for the second time since this restaurant opened last year, we used to visit digress before!!
i would say the lounge area is comfortable for waiting as we were served with drinks and poppodums.
it took half an hour for our food, but has to say that the wait is worth as the food is out of the world, especially the kebabs.
me and my daughter just loved the chicken biryani, quite unusual as the chefs cooked in the pot and serve in the same.
i will certainly come back again with more friends.
thanks for the lovely evening

After being highly recommended by a work colleague, thought id try Asha's by taking the wife out for her birthday. As soon as you enter through the door, you get blown away from the colour full and cosy decor. We waited by the lounge for about 5mins to be seen but then my partner insisted that we go over to the counter and ask them for a table for two. We were told to sit in the lounge while a table was being set up. 10.30pm we were taken to the table, the barmaid insisted we try the tropical cocktails (GOOD ONE) then about 20mins later the waiter come over to take our order, we ordered 2 starters, 2 main course a rice and nan. The waiter insisted we have all the food together as the kitchen was closing up. The wife loves her starters otherwise would've just settled with the main course. 11.15pm all the food arrived, by the time we had finished our starters our main courses had gone cold. The wife and I didnt eat the main course. 11.35pm as our plates were being cleared the same waiter asked if we wanted desserts to order now (without giving us a dessert menu) because the kitchen was closing, hang on thought the kitchen closed at 11.00pm?! Anyway, was very very disapointed by the service. It was a good job that i took the wife and not the girlfriend otherwise i would've been really really angry at that waiter!! Asha employ a decent team!

Decided to give it another try, having had a poor experience a few months ago. This time the food too was less than mediocre. I had ordered two different chicken dishes a vegetable dish and a daal. The papadums were dry, the waiter told me that they were freshly made on the day (!) but had been under a lamp of course. Whatever the dishes were called on the menu they were just chicken in cream. The vegetable dish was unidentifiable and reasonably unpalatable. The daal was OK except for the very heavy cream. Could have just drank a pint of double cream instead of going to the trouble. The drinks were expensive for the standard of the restaurant. Definitely a miss.

Went without an appointment. Initially was seated in the reception area with no access to the bar or a toilet. Was presented a drinks menu, the print of which was too small to read. After agonising for some time, I realised I will have to ask one of the very young ladies in attendance re the toilet. Was told that a gent will come and guide me. A while later another young lady asked if I wanted to use the toilet now or later. A gent was then shouted in to guide me to the facility at the other end of the dining room. Reasonably uncomfortable experience.
We were then seated for the meal. It appeared to be a converted office with hard floors, hard desks and an average height ceiling. It all added to a lot of noise reverbrating from the rest of the tables with nothing to absorb the sound. Tables were too close together and felt I was part of the audience for a voluble diner at the next table. Not pleasant experience.
The food however was good.
