We were in Birmingham for a conference, and came across this fabulous restaurant. Everything about this restaurant was perfect. The ambience, decor, service, food, wine and dessert --- it was wonderful. I will strongly recommend this restaurant to anybody who wants a taste of authentic Indian food.

Thank you Itihaas, for making that evening a wonderful one.

For me this was a great experience. Food and service were on par with any 5 star Italian or French. It is good to see that Indian Restaurants are raising the standards. It is a litlle pricey so I think I will save it for special occassions. But even that will add to the whole kudos of the place.

i am sure you must be looking forward to have a positive response, but im affraid my experience was awful .fitrs the waiter got our drinks wrong ,then he actually brought my DIET COKE WITHOUT ICE in a dirty glass.now they are suppose to be in the trade ,they should know .they sat us under the air-conditioner,and had made the whole experience awful.

FOOD - the food was really bad,the indian cooking they serve is actually appalling.i was put off it for life .the chops masala i ordererd was something i could not recognise ,and it was suppose to have cooked in its own juices. barbequed chops were pretty awful as well .after complaing i was told that the "CHOPS WHEN THEY ARE COOKED ,DOENT LOOK LIKE CHOPS". they ruined my experience of a night out .

if u want to taste any thing nice indian please dont go there as you will never have indian food for a long time afterwards.

We found Itihaas by accident - we had actually crossed the road to look at the canal, but I am so glad we did. The entrance looks more like a hotel than a restaurant, but it leads into a beautiful dining room with fabulous decor. The speed and quality of service was excellent. We took the waiters advice and had the mixed starter which was delicious and we enjoyed every dish that followed.

I have eaten in many Indian Restaurants when on business in Birmingham and this is by far the best, I am not at all surprised it has won awards. It is ideal for a special occasion or even if you are just hungry!

Ate here earlier this year, nice food, fairly expensive compared with a lot of other Indian restaurants, but it does have that edge over the others and as they say " you get what you pay for".

Food was different to the usual Indian restaurants that i have visited, smaller portions, more variety and filling too.

Although it was a great place to go at lunch time with friends to experiment and try lots of dishes, it could all be a bit too much! All those different dishes could be too much for the stomach so i would advise to ask for advice from staff on what dishes compliment one another!!!!
