Good food but over priced . The chef and kitchen staff do a good job but let down an awful lot by poor inexperienced front of house. The management were rude and ignorant when lots of hot wax was spilled over one if our party!!
The owener couldn't even be bothered to apologise!
Better places in to eat in Solihull for less money...bad managent that couldn't back up it's resturants pretentious atmospere... One to avoid

AMAZING. the only word for it.
Food, Service, Atmosphere and Restaurant
The food was perfect and was beautifully presented almost to beautiful i didnt want to get my knife and fork into it. However i couldnt resist and i did the flavours and textures all blended and it was cooked exceedingly well beyond my expectations. We recieved a complementary veloute a small soup to begin our meal with some fresh homemade bread which was delicious made fresh that morning. after our starter we was given a complementary sorbet which was strawberry to cleanse out pallet between our starter and main course which did exactly that and very refreshing on a day like today. Our main course shortly after at first i must admit the portions did look a little small but as soon as we were done we were stuffed. Both main courses were amazing and again presented beautifully.
The service was excellent, our waitress greeted us showed us to our table placed our napkins across out laps and offered us drinks. She wasnt intrusive but helpful and polite. She came straight with out drinks and menus. The young lady explained the menus and was very knowledgable about the menu as my partner queried her about a few things. She was very attentive and made sure we was enjoying our meals mid-main course. She then offered us desserts we were both stuffed and refused but she sold the trio of creme brulee expertly and lightly pushed us towards agreeing without being too forceful, We were glad she did as id never tasted creme brulee like it!. She looked very proffessional and was happy and smiley we watched her walking around the place smiling like she enjoyed what she did and how she did it and so she should be. If were enjoying it we like to see people who are serving us enjoying it.
We sat downstairs in a small area as outside was full. The waitress explained how there was an upstairs area but we agreed to sit downstairs. I went and had a little peek and it looked cosy, clean and very intimate. Much like to come of an evening to experience the upstairs dining,
The fat cat restaurant the best restaurant in solihull.
Definatly be back soon. Well done!

Live in Belfast and booked this restaurant because of previous reviews - so firstly thanks to those who took the trouble to comment.
Without doubt it was one of the best meals out my wife and I have had in a long time.
Just everything about the cooking was first rate, all the ingredients tasted delicious - they were perfectly cooked and presented on the plate.Chefs take a bow we just couldn't fault the food - or wine- nothing went back!!!!
Service was attentive and pleasant when needed.
The cost didn't actually matter - we enjoyed the food that much.
Thanks to all for a lovely evening!!

We four were the last booking for lunch on Sunday 28th September2008.
The meal was excellent and we all agreed it certainly matched that of The New Inn at Sutton Coldfield which has a high reputation in the City.
Many thanks to the Chef who cooked our meals exactly to our wishes.
Special thanks to Cara, India and Jasmine for providing us with a such a pleasant day with their care and attention. We will recommend you without reservation and will certainly come again in the near future. With your staff, you deserve to succeed as I sure you will. Once again, many thanks.

In July 2007 the fat cat in Solihull changed owners. We are an independently run restaurant that provides freshly prepared locally sourced food at sensible prices. Based on a simple model of quality food, friendly service and comfortable interior we serve an Anglo-French menu, which changes with the seasons. This is not untypical of responses from our feedback cards “Excellent service, food well presented and good, will definitely come back.” (Mrs B, Cheltenham).
