Cinnamon Red

Cinnamon Red is different when it comes to the food and the service. I felt as if i was at home. I found the atmosphere to be relaxed and the guys were friendly.

My personal experience with other dining places in birmingham was that i always being rushed to finish my meal and to pay for the bill.

Cinnamon Red was busy when I arrived but however the waiters made us feel welcomed and provided beverages until our table was ready. I found that regardless of how busy it was i was never a point rushed at all whats so ever.

The owner apologised for the wait and provided exceptional service that even restaurant owners forget a personal one 2 one service.

I have read few comments which strikes me why people think bad of this place and they are still busy. An example for a paying customer would be if the food was bad, the first action would be to complain an address these issues, ask for concession as the meal was not up to your satisfaction. Highlight these issue to restauarant, but individiuals pay and start complaining over the net which automatically states that even if they tried the upmost to provide a good level of service it will still will be sufficient.

I am a food critic of the local paper and will state that do try. There are numorus restaurants that do place bad reviews to demoralise particular restaurants. A suggestion would be to try before you leave any feedback and advise the restaurant of your experience.

Shocked about the numerous bad reviews but went not long ago and everything was top. The food was great, silver service, everything was nice and clean and staff very friendly and welcoming. Glad I gave it a shot, try it out and ask for the stop the clock deal which is what we had you get good value for money.

food great and service is well maintained all through the restaurant.. I would strongly recommend to ignore the other reviews and try it... we did and gonna carry on using them.

What a shame to the last review, but i must agree with them, i recently went to Cinnamon Red and must say standards and quality has disappeared. You cannot eat peacefully with your wife/girlfriend without the manager trying to intervene his way between a couple. Food was not exciting, tasted much better, portions were poor, service was ok, i would not recommend

Well went to Cinnamon Red the other day, was a Friday night, last week and have to say it was an utter and complete shambles. After reading all the comments about Cinnamon Red I decided why not? But honestly WHY did i bother. I entered Cinnamon Red and to my shock there was just a single table there on a Friday night and both staff where standing behind the bar. We were however greeted nicely and were taken to our table. We gave our drinks and popadom orders and truthfully waited quite a bit of time for them to arrive, assuming that we were only the second table in whole restaurant. Drinks were decent, but popadams were bland, burnt, and not crispy enough. However the dips that accompanied the popadoms were splendid. Our waiter then came and took our order, whereas the other waiter, to be honest, looked completely lost standing and watching us, as he also followed the other waiter towards us.

Anyways we gave our order, and then finally arrived our starters, which to our disappointment were not cooked properly. We did not however tell the waiter about it as we were already disappointed. We crudely ate bits of it, but overall were not impressed. Starters were gone and then finally our main course!!! There were 4 of us so we had ordered 4 dishes, which were Chicken Tikka Massala, The Cinnamon Red Special, Chicken Shajani and a Lamb Hara. Also nans and rice. The dishes came out looking nice and fresh and also smelt wonderful. But hey hey what a shame again!! Our plates were dirty, but nice and warm, and we weren’t even given a hot plate to keep our food warm, never the less we did not say anything. Our waiter gave our food and quickly just scurried away without even saying anything. Anyways we tucked into our wonderful looking food and my my my, yes you got it, how dreadful it was. The Cinnamon Red Special was nothing but sweet, and loads of colour when the waiter said it comes spicy, the Chicken Tikka Massala was good though, probably the best dish we had the lamb hara was tasty as well, but the chicken shajani was disgusting. The nans were ok with the rice’s, but overall our appetite was merely finished as soon as we tasted the dishes. To top that out popped a scruffy looking man from the kitchen, who came up to our table and wouldn’t stop talking. Overall this is the WORST ever experience I have had in any restaurant, we did not tell the staff or restaurant, but I felt that I had the need to express my feelings and thoughts online. This is one restaurant I would NOT recommend to anybody looking for a good night out meal. Overall impression Very disappointed, would never go back.

People what are u doing? Cinnamon red got this mad food deal throughout sunday to thursday called stop the clock, me and girl had food at before 7pm and our three course meal was charged at £6.95 anything apart king prawn off the menu. Waiters were friendly and food is perfect. Will be back specially for the christmas bookings

day, they got a catchy name to it called "stop the clock". I'm a DJ and I'm always looking venues and good food. Went in at 6pm last tuesday and only paid £6.95 for a 3 course meal anything off the menu

I've just been to cinnamon red after the previous bad reviews below the page. Its nothing like what's said. The waiters were exceptional compared to restaurants around birmingham. Yes 10/10 for the food and service. We were looked after to the point that dish was customised to the way we want. We've already booked ourselves for 50 people for xmas on the stop the clock deal. Cinnamon red is a must for true authentic style of the 80's.

Dont bother trying out Cinnamon Red, went there on the weekend to try it out, and it was utterly quiet for a friday, plus there was only one waiter there so that must tell alot. very disspointing, not looked after as well even thought it was quiet. food wasnt very nice as well
