Woktastic Noodle and Sushi Bar

As a fan of Yo! Sushi i was delighted to spot the all you can eat for £10 deal at woktastic in Birmingham. The restaurant was busy, which we thought was a good sign so we went in,
We were very disappointed with the sushi on offer. There was a limited selection and the sushi was not of a very good standard, I have eaten far tastier from a supermarket. There was no time stamp on any of the dishes so i was very dubious as to how long they had been going round on the conveyor.
The hot dishes on offer were good when the were sent out (especially the tempura squid), but they werent sent out very often and when they were, so much was sent out that it went cold before it was all eaten, This needs to be sent out in smaller amounts and more often.
Overall i thought the restaurant was overpriced for what it was serving and i would not be in a hurry to visit again.

I went there with a friend last week to try it out. I love sushi, so a 'All you can eat' is perfect. We were seated pretty quickly which was good as I was really hungry.
The portion is a little smaller compare to the other sushi place in town but since it's all you can eat, it doesn't really matter. The seat, however, are very high up and you almost have to bend down to eat which makes eating very uncomfortable. As we were eating our sushi, we watched the staffs prepared them. we noticed the sushi are pre-made and were store in a large box, not particularly exciting.

My mum and I went to Woktastic at the weekend. It was a Saturday afternoon, and the restaurant was just under half full. We were greeted by the manager who seemed very friendly, and seated right next to the kitchen so we could watch everything being prepared, which was very interesting. The sushi was good (I love it so ate tons) as were the tempura prawns and squid. I didn't get to try any of the desserts, but they looked good; not some ordinary western desserts changed slightly to be 'Japanese' like you get at Wagamamas. The decor is fun and colourful (my mum pointing at the walls asking "is that what you call anime?") and the staff were friendly and attentive, frequently topping up our green tea.
We enjoyed it so much we're going again tomorrow night!

Here is me again with another Woktastic experience! Another fantastic meal I had with my friend there! Two of us had sushi buffet and one main course to share. Still plenty of fresh sushi on the belt and the main course Teriyaki duck was delicious. (Highly recommended ) Yame yame ---

My friend and me came to this restaurant weekends. Never has sushi in a restaurant before because it is quite expensive way to fill my stomach. But this deal is really good. You can eat as much as you like. We really enjoyed ourselves there. There were so many different kinds of sushi on the belt and they were so fresh. The decoration inside the restaurant is really great. So cool and colorful. We feel welcomed by the staff as well. Can’t wait to go there again.

This "Woktastic" is really bad! there is promotion of 'All you can eat" on the sushi on the belt for Feb and Mar 2009. So I bring my friends to have a try.
I with my friend just eat for a bit more than an hour. The waitress come and ask us "What are we waiting for?" After a while, the manager come with the bill and told us that he judged us that we should have enough for an hour and request us to pay the bill.
Even then he still said he is not judging on us and don't take it personal. Is that irony?
There isn't any sign/rule that we need to eat for just ONE hour.
All the waitress and manager are very impolite and should feel ashamed of such a poor attitude. I'll advise all you guys don't come to this sushi bar.
There are much better choices around. "Woktastic", Shame on you!

This is exactly what Birmingham needed a piece of Tokyo in our own city, the food is divine and so authentic, the sake is the exact one you can get in kyoto and the sushi is so fresh that it melts in your mouth.
If you havent been here yet you are seriously missing out...we need more places like this in our city places which are interesting, original and fun.

It was a cold cold Sunday afternoon, and I was walking round Birmingham city centre with my husband and two small kids. We were hungry and grumpy. We hadn't booked a table to eat anywhere and didn't know where we were going to end up.
It was a total delight to stumble across Woktastic. I admit it, I was nervous. I didn't think my kids would eat anything (they are of the 'are there chicken nuggets?' school).
To my surprise, we all enjoyed the experience. We all ate food we hadn't tried before which was fresh and delicious. The kids menu wasn't overwhelming. The decor was bright and fun, the service was excellent.
The informality of the experience, with the kitchen in the middle of the restaurant, starters to share, and great seating, made for a successful family meal out, which are rare.
Thank you Woktastic for looking after us and guiding us through the menu. Thanks also for the doggy bag. My 6 year old thought she had gone to heaven when, much later in the car, she realised she could eat more!

Having taken part in Woktastic's fantastic new sushi school, I know first hand just how fresh the fish used in the sushi is. I was there when it arrived from the market and watched intently as head chef Tony expertly sliced it into wafter-thin slithers for sashimi, or matchstick-like strips for maki rolls.
And after a two-hour tutorial into the art of making great sushi I got to sit down to a bit of a banquest, including some of the items I had helped make, as well as some of the kitchen's specialitities. The banquet started with steamy bowls of savoury miso soup, zingy with freshly sliced spring onions and spongey tofu. Then onto the main event. I especially enjoyed the tempura vegetables and king prawns with their crunchy but light batter and tender filling. Also good were the california rolls with their sticky rice and fresh tuna and avocado, smeared with plenty of tongue-numbing wasabi. Duck spring rolls, served with plum dip, were perfectly hot and crisp with just enough pastry to counter the rich duck meat inside.
Having eaten plenty of appetisers I did not have room for a main course dish but i'll certainly be heading back to sample one of their noodle or ramen dishes.
Service was swift and very friendly and prices good. particularly taking into consideration the quality ingredients.
