Turners of Harborne

Finally managed to get to Turners with my Sister for the pre Christmas lunch menu offer. What an excellent place. First rate service, food and wine at a very reasonable price for both the quantity and more importantly the quality of the food. Will certainly be back one night to try the full a la carte offering. Highly recommended.

If you only ever eat at one restaurant in Birmingham, go to Turners. I was taken to this recently awarded michelin star establishment for my birthday and could not have been more impressed.
As previous reviews state, the staff are superb, showing real care and passion for the food they serve and display a fantastic amount of knowledge of their dishes. The atmosphere is relaxed and considering that Turners is a 'posh' restaurant there isn't the stuffiness of some other establishments.
The menu has changed since my visit so I wont comment on the food in detail, but all four courses were delicious and crafted with the care and attention that has obviously earned Richard Turner his well deserved awards.
Four courses with wine for a table of two came to £126, which for the quality and experience is very reasonable. I could talk up Turners all day and still not do it justice so I'll say one thing - just go!

My wife and I have been to Turners several times since it opened in 2007 to celebrate various birthdays and anniversaries. We have never been disappointed by the quality of cooking or the level of service. It is nothing short of exceptional.
Richard Turner has a knack for creating dishes that are refined but unpretentious, with flavours that work in complete harmony. I recently had a breast of pigeon with confit leg, foie gras and puy lentils. Not something I would usually choose but it was sensational. The raspberry souffle is also recommended as a sure way to make your date go weak at the knees.
The atmosphere is sophisticated but unfussy. No flapping about or unnecessary sneering. The staff are charming and seem genuinely happy to work there. They seem to take pride in what comes out of the kitchen - I would too!
Highly recommend. Special occasion or not, just go.
