I was brought to Thai Edge by my boyfriend for my birthday a month ago as he knows how fond I am of Thai food. The whole experience there was totally unpleasant, the food was below average and the staff were so rude and clearly had not been trained in customer care.
Firstly, once we were shown to our seat, it took a good 10 minutes before the waitress came over to ask us if we wanted a drink, when she did so, she was very brash and barely said more than a grunt to us, when she was gone we werent even sure if she had taken note of what we wanted.
My boyfriends main course, a chicken dish was fleshy and pink in the middle and clearly undercooked. When he notified the waiter of this she said "okay" and took the plate away, no apology was made. We then got a message from the kitchen that the cheif had said that chicken is meant to be pink!! My boyfriend was then asked if he would like something else, to which he declined, not then wanting to risk any further uncooked meat. I sat there and ate my very average prawn dish.
When the bill came, they had charged us for two beers which we never had. We politely told the waitress about the error, to which she said nothing, again no apology, just a grunt!! Afterwards, we went to talk to the manager to complain about the poor food and the bad service, he agreed that he thought the chicken had been undercooked and although took the price of that meal off the final bill, offered no apology.
We ended up going across the street to a gorgeous French restaurant (le petit blanc) after this inadequate meal at Thai Edge, where my then starving boyfriend got a great meal with fantastic service.
This is the first review I have ever written on a restaurant, but I just felt I had to!
All in all my dining experience at Thai Edge was most unpleasant with average food and below average manners from the staff. I would not recommend it to anyone.
